Re: [Koha] Setting DueDates and Sending OverDue Notices
by Jesse Lambertson 04 Feb '16

Thank you Craig. Yes, there is a client running to send mail. Our sysadmin set it up for me. We are getting all the other notifications EXCEPT overdues. This is why I was thinking it might be a trigger or hard due date issue. Vote on proposed location for Koha-US meeting
by Christopher Davis 04 Feb '16

04 Feb '16

Dear Colleagues, Koha-US (formerly, Koha-NA/NAKUG) has collected proposals for sites to host its 2016 annual face-to-face meeting. I would like to invite you to read each site proposal found at <koha-us.net/index.php/Vote_on_location_of_meeting> and then cast your votes to indicate your preference. Related questions and/or comments can be submitted to rhastings at nekls dot org. Cannot make it to this year's meeting? You can still tell Koha-US which site you think is best for this meeting. We want your feedback :-) Cordially, Christopher Davis Secretary, Koha-US

Re: [Koha] Wiki certificate

Solved -- or at least I've maybe got to the bottom of this. I now have Opera running on Ubuntu, Debian and Mint desktops, by forcing the following certs: * ISRG Root X1 * Let's Encrypt Authority X1 (IdenTrust cross-signed) * Let's Encrypt Authority X2 (IdenTrust cross-signed) * DST Root CA X3 It appears that the Koha/Let's encrypt certificate will never work on WinXP (we still have three work spaces, unfortunately) except with Firefox (so Opera, Chrome and IE don't work.) This is apparently a Microsoft problem, as the Let's Encrypt "countersigner" needs NameConstraints which MS have not backported to XP and Let's Encrypt apparently can't do without it. Full details at <https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/help-needed-windows-xp-support/8756> Maybe it's not too important -- WinXP only has about 11% market penetration according to <https://www.netmarketshare.com/operating-system-market-share.aspx?qprid=10&…> and Opera is not a prevalent browser -- we just like it for it's speed and clean layout, but our users/cataloguers rarely need the Koha wiki. So I can live with it until we can convert the boxes to Linux. Thanks for the responses -- Paul

Re: [Koha] Koha and OAI-PMH

Hi Florence, I'm afraid that I don't understand your question. What do you mean by "Can Koha be used to manage a digital library"? Are you asking if Koha can show metadata records from a digital library? Or are you asking if Koha can add/update/delete records in a digital library? Or both? Or something else? I'm currently working on an OAI-PMH harvester for Koha, but the sole intent at the moment is to harvest metadata records from other systems and import them into Koha. Inactive patrons and fine forgiveness
by Chad Roseburg 03 Feb '16

03 Feb '16

We are planning an amnesty program later this year ...early 2017 and would like to know what other libraries are doing. First we'd like to purge our inactive patrons. I had a few questions for libraries that are doing this. 1. What are your policies for deleting patrons? Inactive ...expired ..etc? 1.2 What reports do you use to capture them? 1.3 What if they have fines? 2. What are (were) your policies for forgiving fines or fees? 2.2 How do you capture this info? [ what reports used? ] 2.3 What process do you use for clearing these? Any advice or information you might have would be much appreciated! Thank you! -- Chad Roseburg Automation Dept.
