We use the patron data already in Koha; names, addresses,... We export from QuickBooks via an Excel file. It can be any accounting package which can export to Excel, we started with Peachtree Accounting. The important thing to link the two packages is having the Koha card number (not patron number) in an exportable field in your accounting package. We use the customer number to link the accounting data to the patron. You will need to do some preparation in setting up the accounting account numbers/descriptions and whether they are tax deductible. (In the US donations are deductible and book sales are not. At the end of the year you can generate letters to each patron showing how much was tax deductible.) There is also some set up needed for patron types and attributes. See the documentation with the plugin. Once that is done, just export all income to an Excel file and upload it to the plugin. Versions: 1. Separate web-site (host:18080) written in PHP and hard coded to the Peachtree export. The accounting data was stored in the Koha database. 2. Separate web-site re-written in Perl and hard coded to QuickBooks export. Otherwise same as 1 3. Re-written in Perl as a plugin. All the hard coded things were parameterized so that you could tailor it to your needs. There is a bit of a learning curve, but over the years we've been through a number of Office Managers and several Executive Directors who have all found it to be very useful. We've made a number of changes to solve specific needs. How do we...? Generally do it this way..., occasionally we had to make some code changes. The only major downside is in the coding style. Over the years my Perl skills improved so early code which didn't need to be changed looks different from later code. But that won't affect the use of the plugin. I encourage you to try it and let me know how it goes. Koha Sip integration problem.

Hello. I'm Melih from Turkey. I'm database administrator, but I work koha for SIP integration to configure. I can connect SIP with koha when they are on same server. Now SIP is in different server and koha database is in different nodes. I inserted user and give permission. But I can't test via telnet. it errors when I login via telnet. '93'. Mail Configuration in Koha

I have uploaded data and i started circulation also , but am unable do the Mail configuration we have our own domain and official mail. how to configure it , I have installed Exim4 & Postfix . -- Regards Ganesha.

System treating patron secondary email as mandatory and complaining even with valid email address

Hi All I have upgraded my Koha instance from version 3.18 to 3.22. Now when updating patron records that have expired, the system is complaining if the secondary email is empty and yet it is not mandatory. In addition, if there is valid email, it is also complaining that it is invalid until you edit it somehow, that is when it will save the record. Any pointers to resolve this. However if your Koha catalog runs over https and your images are hosted at a non-https location, the user's browser might give them "mixed content" warnings. I'm guessing this is what you're seeing? Hello Most likely this error is due to few Arabic translation mistakes which are corrected already in the translated files but wont be available in the Koha 3.22 release package until next Koha 3.22.02 release. Therefore, and until then, we are providing the following fix to those who cannot wait: 1- Download a new copy of the Arabic translation files from this link: http://repository.maktabat-online.com/handle/123456789/12971 2- Copy those files (unzipped) to this folder: /.../koha/misc/translator/po 3- Move to this path: cd /.../koha/misc/translator/ 4- Execute the following commands: export KOHA_CONF=/etc/koha/koha-conf.xml export PERL5LIB=/usr/share/koha/lib ./translate install ar-Arab 5- Enjoy a nice ride with Arabic Koha 3.22.01 free of error msgs. Hi Everyone,My name is India Starker and we are considering using Koha for a small library of 1000 books for a theatre group in Afir, Algeria. I am a semi-retired (lol) engineer, speak French and English, not Arabic and *not* a librarian. I learned that MARC existed yesterday. ;-) I just installed Koha 3.22 for testing on an Amazon EC2 cloud servier running Debian 8 Jessie. Probably I will create a home page like http://perldoc.koha-community.org/, with links to different version of Koha sql schema.
