Change default text of login field name
by Christopher Davis 09 Feb '16

09 Feb '16

Dear Colleagues, I am looking for a way to change the default text of the "login" and "password" fields on our Koha OPAC webpages (see image found at <https://goo.gl/photos/9w1hN6tefQrGp1G8A>). Is this done via the "NoLoginInstructions" system preference or...? The Koha user manual page found at <http://manual.koha-community.org/3.18/en/administration.html#nologininstruc…> indicates that this preference will not have the same affect as what I am looking for, but maybe I am reading it wrong(?). any recommended best practises for handling DoS / DDoS attacks on Koha?
by Indranil Das Gupta 08 Feb '16

08 Feb '16

Hi all, Last night I managed to DoS someone's Koha box accidentally, Of course I called up to inform them that they need to restart the services. But this set me thinking. Anyone running a crawler against the export options in the OPAC can DoS down a stock Koha install running on a VPS, by flooding it with too many requests too fast. What are the usual recommended practises to limit / mitigate / handle such cases? thanks in advance -- Indranil Das Gupta Phone : +91-98300-20971 Blog : http://indradg.randomink.org/blog IRC : indradg on irc://irc.freenode.net Twitter : indradg -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Please exchange editable Office documents only in ODF Format. Self-Checkout Authority settings?
by Andrew Parrish 04 Feb '16

04 Feb '16

Hey all, I am trying to get the self-checkout system working and by default only superlibrarians can log into the system from the OPAC. This naturally defeats the purpose of a self-checkout. Does anyone know how to modify the required authority level so that ordinary patrons can log in? Thanks, Andrew
