Hello, all, I'm using Koha 3.20.05 on Ubuntu 14.04. I'm trying to add a new MARC field that's a URL. I've created field 858 in the MARC framework, then added subfields a and b. Under Advanced Constraints in subfield b I checked the box "Is a URL." The description says: Subfield, Text, Constraints a, ORCID, Tab:8, Repeatable, Not mandatory b, ORCID link, Tab:8, Repeatable, Not mandatory, is a URL Under Cataloging preferences, the URLLinkText is blank. The coding for the field in the detail xsl file is this: <xsl:if test="marc:datafield[@tag=858]"> <span class="results_summary authors"> <span class="label">ORCID: </span> <xsl:for-each select="marc:datafield[@tag=858]"> <xsl:call-template name="subfieldSelect"> <xsl:with-param name="codes">ab</xsl:with-param> </xsl:call-template>  <xsl:choose> <xsl:when test="position()=last()"> <xsl:text>.</xsl:text> </xsl:when> <xsl:otherwise> <xsl:text>; </xsl:text> </xsl:otherwise> </xsl:choose> </xsl:for-each> </span> </xsl:if> The problem is that when I search for a record containing this field, the text for the b subfield appears, but it isn't a URL-I can see it, but I can't click on it. I tried putting the b subfield in "http://a.web.link.us" format; I didn't think it would work, and it doesn't. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? I couldn't find an answer in the manual or online. Question re. config file for OCLC Connexion Gateway

Hi all, We need to update a port number in our OCLC Connexion Gateway settings before ByWater Solutions, our service provider, can upgrade us to Koha 3.22. The same is true for all ByWater clients using the Gateway, and so I am hoping someone can answer this question. There are two steps to setting up the Connexion Gateway: 1) inputting some settings in the Connexion Client, and 2) writing a config file that tells Koha how to handle the incoming records. I have already changed the Connexion Client settings. My question is regarding the config file, about which the Koha manual says, "First, you'll need to create a file somewhere on your system with configuration information. You could put this anywhere that is visible to the account that will be running the service." I understand what goes into the config file, and that the port number on line 2 of the file has to be changed. I just don't know where this file lives in order to grab it and edit it. Our Koha server is hosted. No one at my institution remember how this was set up when we went live (before my time). Any help is much appreciated! Unfortunately there is a lot more to it than that. You would have to change the underlying code that performs the search to be able to handle searching on 2 languages. This would probably be easier with ElasticSearch than Zebra, but that is not in a stable release yet. Either way, it would be days not hours of work. Https and restricting IP access

We would like to secure our Koha installation and would like to know what you've done and your experiences. We use some 3rd party tools like Syndetics, Overdrive ...etc. How does https impact the use of these tools? Were you able to find a workaround? We'd like to restrict IP access at the network level -- not using Koha. If you've done this, how did you accomplish this? We are using different hostnames for OPAC and Staff Client rather than ports 80 and 8080 so can not make policies based on ports. Thank you! -- Chad Roseburg Asst. Director / IT Automation Dept. Multiple Choice in Language Selection I suggest that it could serve much better the Koha users if the Language selection, in the Adv. Search in Koha Opac, could be a Multiple Choice, instead as the Single Choice one, which now we have there, see: http://library.brcindia.com/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl , It would be much better if the Opac users could be able to multi-select more than one language, by cntrl-clicking on them, etc. The point is that an 'advanced' search may naturally include two or few specific languages, like, for ex., if I want to find some texts in original Indic languages by classical Indian authors, I will NOT search for 'No limit' (= too many results) nor for Bengali, only (= too less results), but I would prefere to include in my search both Samskrit and Bengali, since French and Italian, obviously, will not give me many relevant results. It should not be, afaik, really a big coding thing, (unless this breaks the CSS of the Koha theme)... something that a good Koha programmer can do quite easily...:) I suggest the above small change to the code because it seems to be of a very good use for all Koha users and will make the search tool much more user-friendly for all... :) Thank you for considering it... :)

hello have a nice day We have a number of duplicate entries in our database and also biblios without items. I would like to know how how one can bulk delete duplicate records and all the biblios with no items attached. Thanks in advance
