Reg. Speech To Text Integration in KOHA OPAC
by Dr.Avaneesh Kumar Singh 25 Apr '16

Dear All, I am head Librarian at KIIT Group of Colleges, Gurgaon, India. Being an Open source enthusiast, I have implemented KOHA in our Library and also trying to modify / customize it. At present I am working on integrating speech recognition (Speech to Text) and speech synthesis (Text to Speech) to KOHA OPAC. I tried to integrate Google Speech API (Links given below), but couldn't make it https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2013/01/Voice-Driven-Web-Apps-Int… https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/demos/speech.html https://dvcs.w3.org/hg/speech-api/raw-file/tip/speechapi.html I would highly appreciate if you could guide me in this direction. THANKING YOU With Best Regards *Dr. Avaneesh Kumar SinghLibrarianKIIT Group of colleges Gurgaon, Haryana - 122102Mob. : +91-8447642084*

Please assist: "ALL items fields MUST be mapped to the same tag" issue
by Mr Patrick Beddy 25 Apr '16

25 Apr '16

Good day. I have been struggling to resolve a "MARC bibliographic framework test" issue, and hope that someone in this forum can assist me. I used the default MAR framework structure, and in preparation for importing stock from our old library system, I created some new sub-fields under Koha tag 995. All existing and new sub-fields had constraints linked to Tab 10. Under "Koha to MARC mapping" and the "items" section, all fields used link to subfields of tag 995. However, When I run "MARC bibliographic framework test", the only error I get is "item fields: ALL items fields MUST be mapped to the same tag, and they must all be in the 10 (items) tab" Can anyone give some help on how to clear this problem. My setup: Koha version: 3.22.02.000 OS version ('uname -a'): Linux debian 3.2.0-4-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 3.2.57-3 i686 GNU/Linux Perl version: 5.014002 MySQL version: mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.5.44, for debian-linux-gnu (i686) using readline 6.2 Many thanks ================================================== Please report any abuse sent from any Treverton user to abuse(a)treverton.co.za ==================================================

Given that the query below works perfectly on CLI (using real values 1, 2, 3 rather than the << input, input2, input3 >> construct), maybe we should look at the code that prepares the MySQL query, rather than just saying that MySQL doesn't remove the single quotes. I haven't had time to chase down whether it's Koha or a standard library that adds the quote marks, but wherever it is, it should be fairly trivial to remove them. Report question
by Graham, Stephen 22 Apr '16

22 Apr '16

Hi All - I want to set up a SQL report that can take a variable number of the same value. My SQL looks like: select biblionumber, concat (branchname, ', ', lib) as location, itemcallnumber, if(onloan is null,'Available',onloan) onloan from items,authorised_values,branches where biblionumber in (<<BIBIDS>>) and authorised_values.category = 'LOC' and items.location = authorised_values.authorised_value and items.homebranch = branches.branchcode I want the <<BIBIDS>> value to be able to receive several values when I run the report from the staff client, but I cannot get it to work. Any advice/tips much welcome! SIPServer abaility
by Joseph Hogan 22 Apr '16

22 Apr '16

Hello, I read a recent message talking about the ability of Koha being able to use a SIPServer. I tried looking in the wiki for more information, but while it seems to explain how to set it up, I can not find a uapication for it? I use SIP server sfor VOIP telephony purposes. But, what is the use here in Koha? Thanks Joeph

Using build_oai_sets.pl with embed items option
by Pedro Amorim 22 Apr '16

22 Apr '16

Hello all, I've configured an OAI set mapping with the field 995$a equals "libcode", where 995$a holds the aquisition library code for the item. As this is an item field, not a biblio field, I have to run build_oai_sets.pl with '-i' option in order to embed items to the records. This is working fine, however, it's only indexing records which only have 1 item of 'libcode'. Every other biblio with, say, 5 items from different libraries and 1 from 'libcode' library are not indexing. I think the C4::Biblio::EmbedItemsInMarcBiblio function might be only considering the first item in a biblio, instead of checking all of them. Has anyone else come across this situation? Thanks, Pedro Amorim
