FW: Can only access OPAC or Staff client
by Doug Dearden 12 May '16

Hi Kelsey, For your OPAC use library.kohaesfl.org (defaults to port 80) For your staff client use library.kohaesfl.org:8080 (forces use of port 8080) Best, Doug -----Original Message----- From: Koha [mailto:koha-bounces@lists.katipo.co.nz] On Behalf Of Kelsey Lied Sent: Thursday, May 12, 2016 10:36 AM To: koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz Subject: [Koha] Can only access OPAC or Staff client Hi, I've got a new almost-up install with a weird happening -- only the OPAC or Staff client is available. I've split the two to be on different ports, 80 and 8080. Both library.kohaesfl.org and library-intra.kohaesfl.org will go to whichever site is currently set to port 80. (ie, right now, the OPAC is on 80 and they both go to the OPAC. If I flip the ports in /etc/apache2/sites-available/library.conf and /etc/koha/koha-sites.conf so that the intranet is on port 80, both URLs will give the staff side). Both subdomains have valid DNS entries pointing them to the right server; both will work if accessed via IP:port; both 80 and 8080 are being "Listen"ed to in /etc/apache2/ports.conf Has anybody seen this or does anybody have any ideas on what to try? Hi Regina, Git installation is meant only for developers. For everyone else, the recommended method is using debian packages. https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_on_ubuntu_-_packages Pls follow that. -Indranil On May 13, 2016 12:13 AM, "regina kivuyo" <reginaickivuyo(a)gmail.com> wrote: i need your help please i is four month now i installed different version of ubuntu but i failed to get result when i search i installed version 3.18 ,3.20 ,i installed from git i failed , i don't no what is the problem know i am planning to install from git and also using version 3.22 plsease help which is nice way to go to download from the community or use git method also help i want to uninstall koha how to do it -- regina _______________________________________________ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz https://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha

Koha Stocknumber plugins
by Craig Butosi 12 May '16

12 May '16

Hi all, I am looking here: Home > Administration > MARC frameworks > Default framework structure > Tag 952 subfield structure > Edit subfields constraints > Other options (choose one) What do the following plugins do? stocknumber.pl stocknumberAV.pl stocknumberam123.pl I know if you link stocknumberAV.pl with, say, 952$i, you can auto-generate an inventory number as you create item records. But I don't know why there are 3 stocknumber plugins. Many thanks, Craig Butosi, MA, MLIS, B Mus (Hons.) OPAC searches fail with ICU indexing enabled
by Andreas Roussos 11 May '16

11 May '16

Dear list, We're running Koha 3.20.04 on Ubuntu 14.04, and recently enabled ICU indexing as per the instructions on the wiki (https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Correcting_Search_of_Arabic_records) Most searches work fine, but queries for certain Greek characters in OPAC (for example "[χ.ό.]"), return the following message: Error: :8: parser error : Input is not proper UTF-8, indicate encoding ! Bytes: 0xCF 0x3C 0x2F 0x74 Î¿Ï Î¤Î¹Î¼Ïθεον ÎÎ-ÏÏÎ¿Ï Î¤Î¹Î¼Ïθεον ÎÎ-ÏÏÎ¿Ï Î¤Î¯Ïον-Ï ^ If I use the command-line zebra client to perform the same search, I get 335 hits: $ yaz-client -c /etc/koha/zebradb/ccl.properties unix:/var/run/koha/imp/bibliosocket Connecting...OK. Sent initrequest. Connection accepted by v3 target. ID : 81 Name : Zebra Information Server/GFS/YAZ Version: 4.2.30 98864b44c654645bc16b2c54f822dc2e45a93031 Options: search present delSet triggerResourceCtrl scan sort extendedServices namedResultSets Elapsed: 0.000743 Z> base biblios Z> f [χ.ό.] Sent searchRequest. Received SearchResponse. Search was a success. Number of hits: 335, setno 1 SearchResult-1: term=χο cnt=335 records returned: 0 Elapsed: 0.014453 So, it looks as if Zebra can actually perform the search but somehow the results cannot be displayed in OPAC. Does anyone have any clues as to why this is happening? Kind regards, Andreas

Re: [Koha] Troubleshooting Z39.50 access
by Eric Bégin 11 May '16

Jason, Try on port 2100. Ports below 256 are restricted to root user by Linux. If you really want to use port 210, you'll have to use iptables to forward it. But as I mentionned, try it first with 2100. Cheers, Eric BéginSolutions inLibro inc. -------- Message d'origine -------- De : Jason Loeffler <j(a)minorscience.com> Date : 09/05/2016 19:29 (GMT-05:00) À : koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz Objet : [Koha] Troubleshooting Z39.50 access Hello. New Koha user here and attempting to configure Z39.50 for external libraries to harvest records. I've configured the server directive and server info blocks which I've shared in the following gist. https://gist.github.com/minorscience/d92d40f077b830c5985eed116d81b2f4 Not sure what else need to done besides bouncing the Zebra server. Any attempt to connect on the local network or outside network returns: Connecting...error = System (lower-layer) error Zebra is running and the assigned port is open. Any ideas? I'm a little familiar with yaz but haven't used it much in a Koha context. Thanks in advance.
