Re: [Koha] SQL Help - Add barcode column to SQL query that searches subject keywords

Hi Craig Butosi, There will be many copies for each biblionumber so you want to list out all the barcodes related to that biblionumber or biblioitemnumber? If you want every barcode related to that biblioitemnumber then the query will be as below: SELECT CONCAT('<a href=\"/cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/detail.pl?biblionumber=',items.biblionumber,'\">',items.biblionumber,'</a>') AS bibnumber, ExtractValue(marcxml,'//datafield[@tag="690"]/subfield[@code>="a"]') AS 'subjects', items.barcode FROM biblioitems LEFT JOIN items on items.biblioitemnumber = biblioitems.biblioitemnumber WHERE ExtractValue(marcxml,'//datafield[@tag="690"]/subfield[@code>="a"]') LIKE <<Enter keyword surrounded BY %>> and biblioitems.biblioitemnumber is not null GROUP BY items.biblionumber On Aug 17, 2016 5:30 AM, <koha-request(a)lists.katipo.co.nz> wrote: > Send Koha mailing list submissions to > koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > https://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > koha-request(a)lists.katipo.co.nz > > You can reach the person managing the list at > koha-owner(a)lists.katipo.co.nz > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of Koha digest..." > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. How many Koha libraries are there worldwide?
by Michael Kuhn 24 Aug '16

24 Aug '16

Hi I wonder how many libraries worldwide are using Koha. At the moment Marshall Breedings wonderful website libraries.org lists 4'352 libraries using Koha: * http://www.librarytechnology.org/lwc-processquery.pl?ILS=Koha I always thought there are about 4'000 or meanwhile even 6'000 libraries using Koha, since of course not everyone is listing their library in libraries.org. But today I was thrilled to find the number of "around 15'000" Koha libraries in an article by Catalyst: * https://www.catalyst-eu.net/news/koha-introduction-courses Does anyone have other numbers? Or does anyone have the approximate numbers for his own country? For Austria, Germany and Switzerland I try to find every Koha library, these are the current numbers (http://adminkuhn.ch/wiki/Koha/Anwender) but not counting library branches: * Austria: 7 * Germany: 37 * Switzerland: 7 Best wishes, Michael -- Geschäftsführer · Diplombibliothekar BBS, Informatiker eidg. Joann Ransom is one of the librarians who worked with Chris Cormack to develop the original Koha library management system back in 1999. Joann, ex CEO of Horowhenua Library Trust, is travelling around the world aiming to meet as many Koha community members as possible. Joann has three main topics that she is happy to speak on: 1) Origins of Koha, 2) The Koha Community and what that means and 3) Te Takere <http://www.horowhenua.govt.nz/Places-Events/Community-Centres-Libraries>: transforming a modest public library service into a 21st century community centre. Hi Koha community, We can let you know that Joann is now on her way. Following a small but enthusiastic gathering at the Koha-OZ meetup in Sydney last night, we delivered Joann to the airport this morning. Her next stop is Malaysia. Dear Malaysian Koha Community <http://www.tiki-toki.com/timeline/entry/665664/Round-the-World-Koha-Tour/>, Joann is looking forward to coming to you next. Authority main heading indexing for UNIMARC
by Pedro Amorim 23 Aug '16

23 Aug '16

Hello all, Koha 3.22 from packages UNIMARC install on Debian. This is not a fresh install but all the configuration (and indexing) files have not been modified. Everything was seemly working fine up until the point we started using authority records. This is a follow-up on a previous mail I sent: https://lists.katipo.co.nz/public/koha/2016-August/045991.html I have narrowed the problem down to the indexing (or lack of) of the Heading:p index for authorities. Say I have this authority (NP) record: 200 a$Amorim $bPedro $f1991-1992 Conducting an authority search from the staff interface with search term: "Amorim Pedro 1991-1992" With exact match on main heading, should result on the above record. But it doesn't. Instead, an exact search for each of the above subfields alone ('Amorim', 'Pedro' or '1991-1992') will all return the same expected correct record. As if the authority indexing is indexing all the subfields, but as words instead of a whole phrase. Additional info: I've stumbled upon the GRS-1/DOM terms but from what I understand, after Koha 3.18 it's the DOM indexing that's used and GRS-1 is deprecated. Also, all config files point to DOM by default. ------ I conducted test searches on (UNIMARC) Koha implementations for this incorrect behaviour and oddly enough, it's quite common. The UNIMARC demo test Biblibre implements this search as phrase correctly, searching for all the subfields in the heading will result in the correct record: http://intranet-demo.biblibre.com/ However, Tamil doesn't. It behaves the same as my installation, not interpreting phrase but only words: https://kpro.tamil.fr/ ------ Additional yaz info results: Z> f @and @attr 1=authtype NP @attr 1=Heading @attr 4=1 @attr 6=3 "Amorim" Sent searchRequest. Received SearchResponse. Search was a success. Number of hits: 1, setno 1 SearchResult-1: term=NP cnt=1, term=Amorim cnt=1 records returned: 0 Elapsed: 0.005944 Z> f @and @attr 1=authtype NP @attr 1=Heading @attr 4=1 @attr 6=3 "Amorim Pedro 1991-1992" Sent searchRequest. Received SearchResponse. Search was a success. Number of hits: 0, setno 2 SearchResult-1: term=NP cnt=1, term=Amorim Pedro 1991-1992 cnt=0 records returned: 0 Elapsed: 0.000615 Z> scan @attr 1=Personal-name @attr 4=1 @attr 6=3 "amorim" query: @attr 1=Personal-name @attr 4=1 @attr 6=3 "amorim" Received ScanResponse 6 entries, position=1 Scan returned code 5 * Amorim (1) Pedro (1) Elapsed: 0.037127 The yaz results make it obvious the indexes are wrong and only indexing words, I think. ----------------------- Sorry for long post, wanted to provide as much as useful info as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Pedro Amorim

Two different withdrawn fields
by Dalton Fury 22 Aug '16

22 Aug '16

Hola, I see two different withdrawn fields for every item. One is a YES/NO field found under status section of each item: http://imgur.com/a/j8lvv and other is found when you edit an item: http://imgur.com/a/s5g6y The second withdrawn field does not confuse me because as it is the one for which I have set authorized values. But I cant see why there another YES/NO withdrawn field. How and when is it set? How does it relate-to/differ-from the other withdrawn field? Regards, Navaneeth

Wow that's nice! I might spellsling that time even though it's not my favorite format (Standard). I think the GP won't creep up on the pricing since it will have been over before the KohaCon proper. :) On Monday, August 22, 2016 7:08 PM, BWS Johnson <abesottedphoenix(a)yahoo.com> wrote: Salve! > >Thank you very much! We'll take note of that! :) So far, international events that will be happening in the Philippines that I know of are: 1) Ms. Universe 2017 (not library related but International in scope ;) ) - Jan. 2017, 2) International Association of Law Libraries (this one library related :), and 3) for those who are into Magic: the Gathering (MTG), Grand Prix Manila - June 2-4, 2017 http://magic.wizards.com/en/content/grand-prix-event-types-events, this somewhat coincide the month of KohaCon, for those into the game, maybe you can try spellslinging for GP Manila before KohaCon 2017. ;) > Sorry about the delay in response! I have a ridiculously long course catalogue to edit. Don't tease too much about MTG, I considered being a DCI judge at one point a number of years back :P It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if more than a few devs found the Grand Prix to be attractive. I don't think I'd worry too much about a proper conflict with this, but it might creep up in room reservation pricing. So most of June is still in the clear, which is a happy thing. Cheers, Brooke
