copying item data when creating analytics

Dears, I am creating Analytics for serials issues, when clicking Create analytics , I want to copy more fields into 773 for the item e.x Serial enumeration / chronology . right now only copying 773 sub fields ( 0,9,d,t) how can I achieve that ? Searching problem

Hello All, I am having trouble searching some of the records in the database having a colon ":" punctuation mark in the titles such as "Marx at the Margins: On Nationalism, Ethnicity, and Non-Western Societies", "Bhutan: new pathways to growth", "Dayananda Sarasvati: his life and ideas", etc. However, I could search these records without typing a colon punctuation mark during the search just like "Bhutan new pathways to growth", "Dayananda Sarasvati his life and ideas". The complete title is in the 245a tag field without using remainder of the title. What could be the problem? I have rebuilt the index by issuing koha-rebuild-zebra -f -v <instance> twice but some of the titles mentioned above are still not searchable using full title including colon punctuation mark. I'd appreciate if anyone in the list could share the solution to this issue. Thank you. -- Dibyendra Hyoju

SQL help

Our overall library collection is currently split between 2 different catalogues. The other catalogue can produce a report showing the number of opac searches (total, successful and unsuccessful) for each day of each month for the year. In the last several months, I have installed Koha on virtual boxes through the package installer. The installation to run, of course, but I can't quite figure out how to copy it from one Linux environment to another. That's the trouble when one is used to strickly GUIs over terminals, I suppose. Installation from Source Code

Hello, everyone! We are installing Koha on a server that is off network and has no internet access. Is it possible to do this? I have downloaded the source code through the Koha-Community website, and I have printed-to-PDF the Packages and GIT instructions. We're installing on Ubuntu 18.3.4 LST. CHAT/POETRY: exporting records cataloged on a certain date

Esteemed colleagues: PLEASE NOTE: this entirely frivolous; please hit the delete key if you wish. Any opinions expressed here are mine and mine only, not necessarily shared by my employer, the Koha community, koha-US, or any poultry that might be associated with me. A while back I was trying to figure out a way to export records that I had just uploaded to Koha so I could get information in the 999 field. (So I could build a new RSS file with links to the bib in the MedStar Authors' Catalog, but that doesn't really matter at the moment.) "Export Data" wasn't working-the export files had zero bytes. While I was pondering a possible solution, the muse grabbed me by the keyboard and we produced a litter of couplets. Then someone (Katrin, was it you?) suggested unchecking the "With items owned by the following libraries" box, and it worked like a charm. That left me with an obsolete poem. I hate waste. What to do? Well, I added a few more couplets below the "-----" as an appendix wherein I reveal the solution. The meter gets a bit twisty in places, but it really does scan. I won't attest to the accuracy of all the information presented. I upload records by the score Into Koha's reservoir >From "Manage Records" dialog Import into the catalog Rebuild Zebra then I look To see what's new, with bib as hook. To find one is no chore at all Search for bib number? What a doll My Koha is! if only one Bib record I want and I'm done But now I want to see the batch That with my Koha I did hatch I want to see all that is new But soon I'm mired deep in glue Perhaps Reports will now display The records that I've done today. The Koha SQL collection Might point me in the right direction. Alas, I get an error message! It doesn't work! There's no expressage! Then from the menu Main I go To menu Tools, because I know That in the column Catalog Export Data, like a dog Has served me faithfully before And helped me through the catalog's door. Export records by the date they're cataloged? No bytes, not great. Export records by bib range? Still no bytes, it's very strange. If these don't work, what can I do To see my MARC creations new? Can I put them in a cart? All bibs selected, part by part? That seems to work; they are just fine Complete with MARC tag 999. But now I want to add a date 260$c--is it too late? I add the line and recompile Then upload the replacement file Check dups on field 097 A field I added--plucked from heaven Still I'd like to understand What happens to my little band Of records new that with my hand >From Reference Manager so grand I fashioned into format MARC So they can shine out in the dark To show the world what we have done In MedStar's realm of medicine Does anybody have some thoughts? I have watched other videos on YouTube and I've learned how to convert to MARC records from the Access DB through spreadsheets from the videos. The substantive questions are what information is to be ported over and in what format. My immediate problem is that no call numbers *per se* have been assigned, so I've had to make them up from four fields in order to keep the call numbers unique: the collection code, the Dewey number, an author code (which can serve as the Cutter number), and the library number all cobbled together right now. Easy enough, a little bit of concatenation does the trick. Take my venerable case, *A dictionary of Japanese and English idiomatic equivalents*. Collection code is GE for "General Shelves", Dewey code = 495.631, author code = WAE, and the acquisition number = 1986-1003. I concatenated everything together to make GE 495.631 WAE 1986-1003. I can put the collection code separate from the call number, of course, putting it in the shelving location field (952$c), and the call number will still be unique (or nearly so). But once I drop the library acquisition number, there are all kinds of collisions. On top of that, the acquisition number seems rather important to the library staff; and, as I wrote earlier, I'm too new to challenge them about it, especially if I can't provide a substitute or alternative. I'm trying to limit the collisions and provide for the staff's needs. After all, they too will have to work with the system. But do the staff still need the Access DB ID number? That's the substantive question in this matter. Probably not once we bring Koha alive, for the library acquisition number is probably enough. If they have to get information from the old Access DB, that ought to be enough, I would think. But I have to hear it from them, not just assert it myself and impose the assertion on them. I have worked with that type of manager before, and it brings about a deterioration in the morale and the working relationship between the manager and the staff. I want upper management and the staff to have confidence in me and KSATs; and for them to invest in the new system in order to make it work.* I know that's a tall, heavy order and a collectivist solution; but in my environment, it's ultimately the right one. So there are these questions and others that I'd like to get settled as soon as possible, certainly before we bring Koha online. It's harder to retroactively fix a catalog, any catalog. And it's worse when questions that could have been settled beforehand were not. The catalog can be fixed, mind you, but it's a lot more work both on the technical side and on the relational side. Thanks for your input, everyone. Keep it coming. Footnote * I know there are times when the manager has to assert timself and I may have to do so in some instances.
