problem with cookie based authentication with koha-1.2.3

hi all, Its kinda funny but i needed to logged again and again for the koha intranet. for example when i go to the intranet mainpage. i am prompted to login. after logging in, i click on "acquisition" i am again prompted to login again ! same goes for almost all other admin functions e.g circulation, parameters etc. i used the install.pl script to install and have chosen the cookie based authentication instead of httpd based one. any insight would be great here thanxs in adv -- Hor Hen Ley ( bii web team ) henley(a)bii.a-star.edu.sg my pgp publics are available at http://www.bii-sg.org/~henley/

Assistance with configuring MARC relations...

I've been able to install version 1.90 of Koha, but after checking my MARC structure I received the following message from Koha: ====================== itemnum The field itemnum MUST be mapped The correspounding subfield MUST be in with -1 (ignore) tab the items.homebranch field MUST : homebranch NOT mapped be mapped to a MARC subfield, the correspounding subfield MUST have authorised value=branches the items.holdingbranch field MUST : holdingbranch NOT mapped be mapped to a MARC subfield, the correspounding subfield MUST have authorised value=branches TOTAL You have 3 error(s) in your MARC configuration. Please fix them before using koha ======================= Can someone please assist me in resolving this issue. OS = Redhat 7.3 (all patches) Koha = 1.90 (all modules installed properly) and sample database Any help would be appreciated. The koha 1.9.0 is born a few minuts agos. His parents, the koha-team, are very proud of this almost-stable children. The MARC acquisition part is now completly stable, and used in production in France since december. * Templating almost ended. Translations now avaible : french (almost finished), chinese, spanish, and polish * Circulation now works. * non ISO-5589-1 support (for chinese and polish) * improvements in marc import in breeding farm. * first draft of search in MARC-DB * librarian interface demo avaible at http://demo.koha-fr.org. Please note that by default this site should be in FRENCH. If you modify parameters, don't forget to put fr again in systemprefs ! This release is fairly stable, and the translation process is now on the road in french, polish, spanish and chinese ! The MARC management is really stable now, and the remaining bugs are located in circulation and members management. KNOWN LIMITS : ============= Install it from scratch : * upgrading from 1.3.3 is IMPOSSIBLE, due to DB diffs. * upgrading from 1.2.x is UNTESTED. uninstall question & possible bug

Hello, I've been tinkering around with 1.3.3 on a Debian 3.0 system, and I would like to uninstall & reinstall it, as I've changed my mind on some of the settings and what not. Do you have documentation anywhere on how to uninstall it, or give me some pointers? I'm a complete newbie when it comes to MySQL and Perl. Also, I think I found a bug which prevented the MARC21 stuff from being installed, but perhaps you already know about it; the install script complained that script/misc/marc_datas/marc21_en/structure_def.sql could not be found, and it looks like the permissions on it are wrong, at least on my system; it was owned by 501, which doesn't exist, in mode 600. That's one reason I wanted to try reinstalling, to see if the install script finds it after changing the ownership. Thanks! I would rather that such sticks were not necessary - perhaps a suggestion of help to newbies would be to create DEBs and RPMs of the required Perl modules. If i get a chance i might work on this... - - The permissions on /etc/kohaintranet.pass were not correct by default. A 'chgrp apache /etc/kohaintranet.pass' fixed this. - - Other errors in /var/log/httpd/koha-error_log were (leading & trailing noise removed): File does not exist: /opt/koha/intranet/htdocs/images/kohasplash.jpg * This didn't seem to affect anything Premature end of script headers: mainpage.pl Can't locate HTML/Template.pm in @INC (...) at /opt/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/mainpage.pl line 2. I can't remember if this has been covered before: Can the Koha opac support 'AND' searches? A lot of us here are very attached to our 'Advanced Search' page, and I think we'd like to be able to duplicate most or all of its functionality in our Koha installation: http://www.athenscounty.lib.oh.us/advanced.html Another thing I've been thinking about is the setting in the Koha opac search for 'normal' or 'exact' searching. Our system has a couple of other options, including 'phrase' and 'browse': http://www.athenscounty.lib.oh.us/title.html Keyword searches have the disadvantage of returning a lot more hits than you want. I like 'browse' because it allows you to see a list of items beginning with a search string. Does Koha or can Koha be made to do these things? -- Owen
