Reason to define Koha item type in 942

Good afternoon, I recall reading (in the Koha manual?) the explanation for why it is advantageous to define Koha item type in the bib 942 field. I believe it has to do with exporting records, or the scope of records that is included when doing some type of report? Recursive auth import via SRU

Hi! When we catalouge a new book by importing it via SRU, various authorities are created (based on BiblioAddsAuthorities/AutoCreateAuthorities), but only with the minimal data available in the bibliographic record we're importing: For example, a book might have an author: 100 1 _0(DE-588)133178706 _0https://d-nb.info/gnd/133178706 _0(DE-101)133178706 _aLensing, Thorsten _eVerfasser _4aut _eIllustrator _4ill _2gnd This will create a new authority record, but without all the nice, additional data available at https://d-nb.info/gnd/133178706 Is there a way to "recursively" fetch more auth records (like geographic info, keywords, ..)? Hi, saluton, hola, bonjour, String freeze is into effect as of now for the 20.05.x maintenance branch. This means it's the right time to head over to the translation platform: https://translate.koha-community.org/projects/ Reminder: if you add or change a translation in version 20.05, then you must also copy it to 20.11 and 21.05. Koha 21.11 release dates

Hello everybody, Here is the timeline for the 21.11 major release: * Oct 29th - "Soft" feature freeze, nothing big or with high risk of side-effects will be included into the final release if not marked as Passed QA * Nov 3-5 - "Hard" feature freeze, nothing considered as an improvement will be pushed if not marked as Passed QA * Nov 10th - String freeze, draft of release notes published * Nov 17th - Only bug fixes considered major, critical or blocker will be pushed * Nov 26th - Final release Let me know if you have any comments or modification requests! Hi again, all! I found a workaround for my library's problem with the empty downloads of bib. records compiled by SELECT biblio.biblionumber AS 'Bib. Record No.', biblio.author AS 'Author', > biblio.title AS 'Title' > FROM biblio > WHERE biblio.frameworkcode = <<Which framework?|biblio_framework>> > ORDER BY biblio.biblionumber ASC > In a duplicate of the report above, I changed the WHERE clause to WHERE biblio.frameworkcode = '' OR biblio.frameworkcode IS NULL > The new report becomes SELECT biblio.biblionumber AS 'Bib. Record No.', biblio.author AS 'Author', > biblio.title AS 'Title' > FROM biblio > WHERE WHERE biblio.frameworkcode = '' OR biblio.frameworkcode IS NULL > ORDER BY biblio.biblionumber ASC > While it is not ideal, it works well enough for my library's purposes (counts, identification of bib. records, etc.). Excluding fields from the OPAC search

Hi In our library we use Koha 18.11.01 with Debian GNU/Linux 9. Is it possible to switch off fields in the OPAC for the keyword search or for the search in general so that they cannot be searched? (e. g. MARC 952$e the source of acquisition, or MARC 952$x the non-public note) How do other libraries deal with the fact that, for example, the source of acquisition unnecessarily inflates the search result?
