Bulkmarcimport'ing lots of records

Kia ora! I am about to migrate my biggest library yet to Koha - on the order of 500k records and 1.2m items. Running bulkmarcimport.pl on all of that takes some time - about 15 hours on the first run, and it will take longer when data needs to be deleted first. So I am wondering if there is any way to speed this up? Would it for example be possible to split the file of MARCXML to be imported into two (or more) and run more than one instances of bulkmarcimport.pl in paralell? Or would table locking etc make it take as long as just running one process? Any tips and tricks would be most welcome! (I'll document them on the wiki.) Best regards, Magnus Libriotech

warning defined in funds to be alerted when ordering

Hello, I’m wondering about the way the warning amount defined in funds should work. In the documentation, it is written « Warning at (%) or Warning at (amount) can be filled in to make Koha warn you before you spend a certain percentage or amount of your budget. This will prevent you from overspending. » So, I thought that the alert should be active when you ordered something and total available fund amount minus the amount ordered leaves you an amount less than the warning amount. But, in fact, when ordering, there is the alert when you order an item that is more expensive than the warning amount. For example, for a fund where the total available is 2,345.30, when I tried to order an item that costs 150, I had this alert : « Warning! You will exceed maximum limit (100.00 €) for your fund. Do you want to confirm this order? » What is the real logic of warning amount ? I do have access to the server. Can you tell me which *.pl that i need to set in cron.hourly? i tried process_message_queue.pl in cron.hourly but not successful. Case Sensitivity and Koha SQL Statements

Hello, all! In my previous experience with SQL, case did not matter, but here it does? I've been tearing out my hair -- and I'm bald -- for the last several hours over a reported syntax error in a SQL statement I have been composing. It turns out that it wasn't a syntax error, per se -- and I studied for a doctorate in theoretical syntax -- rather a case sensitivity error. The portion of the statement at hand is ... WHERE items.itype = <<Item type|ITEMTYPES>> It turns out "ITEMTYPES" ought to be written "itemtypes". Only through trial and error did I learn that some identifiers are case sensitive. I sought in the Koha wiki confirmation, refutation, and qualification that CASE INDEED MATTERS IN IDENTIFIERS, but I could not find anything about that. If case does indeed matter, please update the online and print SQL manual(s) accordingly. I would not have spent two hours on this if the correct word had been used in the error message. Framework Reports

Hi, all! I frequently use the following SQL report, which I think I got from the Koha wiki. SELECT bib.biblionumber AS 'Bib. Record Number', bib.author AS 'Author', bib.title AS 'Title' FROM biblio bib WHERE bib.frameworkcode = <<Choose MARC framework (bibliographic) framework>> This serves us well, but as you might guess, one must know the framework code in order for the report to function correctly. Moreover, pressing "Run the report" without entering a framework leads to an out-of-memory error. (An empty submission would be equivalent to the default framework, but this seems not to be the case.) Is there a way to modify it so that one can select from a list, e.g., SELECT bib.biblionumber AS 'Bib. Record Number', bib.author AS 'Author', bib.title AS 'Title' FROM biblio bib WHERE bib.frameworkcode = <<Choose MARC framework (bibliographic) framework|FRAMEWORK_CODE>> I have looked for the name of an equivalent to my FRAMEWORK_CODE list in the Koha wiki but alas, for I have not found it. So, I duplicated the description in an ad-hoc authorized list, my FRAMEWORK_CODE above, but that means updating the new ad-hoc list every time we add or rid a framework. linked item subfield to unlinked item subfield (items.more_subfields_xml)

Hi everyone, Do you know if there is a method, a script or a tool to easily migrate a linked (koha db) item subfield to an unlinked item subfield (ie : items.more_subfields_xml). We will soon upgrade koha from 18.11 to 20.11and we are trying to find a solution to the removal of items.paidfor subfield.
