Installing Koha--mysql database template

Hello, We're working on setting up Koha to use for our school library. (We still have a card catalog.) The people who are helping me, who know much more about computer programming than I do, would like to know if anyone has a database template for mysql for Koha? Thanks! Yep, the Z39.50 server can in fact connect to another Z39.50 server to retreive information about materials. You need to know which Z39.50 server you want to connect to, and then you need to ensure that it's address is in the Parameters> Z39.50 section. What I would do is search for a library that is similar to your own because your collection is like to overlap. Then, I would ask the library or hunt around their website for information about their server. A lot of the ways retrieval works revolve around an ISBN. Hi all, I have installed and got Koha going, and added the sample data. I'm sorry to bother again but discovered that using the default theme in opac I can search for biblios and recieve no errors as answers I can also search by partial name of biblios, or first name of an author, but can't use the "recent acquisitions" option wich I have sorted only 3 item Types but when using the css theme couldn't search, but could use the "recent acquisitions" option, but only by 2 of them not the 3 I had created, the second one fails. Could I just look at both part of code corresponding to both themes and copy from one to another the code that works for me, could that do the job? Ok sorry my bad English, remember it's no my native... Hope someone could help. J0se

ok a few things in koha, first I started adding a few stop words (since could affect the searches, cause I only get errors) so after adding some words I ran the rebuildnonmarc script but got an error saying that there was no Context.pm file (strange thing since in koha-httpd.conf file is set a SetEnv PERL5LIB "/usr/local/koha/intranet/modules") so i performed export PERL5LIB=/usr/local/koha/intranet/modules and tried again but this time I got another error. There was no Time/HiRes.pm so I went through the rebuildnonmarc file and noticed that at line 12 there was a Time::HiRes so i downloaded the module using CPAN. Now after running the script it died at line 35 but I have no idea what to do now. The last sintax before that line is: if ($version || (!$confirm)) { print <<EOF I would really appreciate if someone could help me, maybe the process was successfully but I dunno. Some other thing... if after installing, let's say I go to reports and select Till Recontiliation and get the 500 internal server error is because I have no issued anything and stuff, right? ok after all this I wen't to the stop words and they where all there and they could be searched. Hope this could help someone having same issues and could be added to the guides. Oh! almost forgot, I don't use MARC support I should have no problems right? apache2 permission pain over...

Allright! This has bugged me for ages, and it is finally solved - I should have realise loooong ago. If you use apache2, don't forget to allow access to your directories when you're done installing koha [just like everywhere else in apache2 - duh!] For example, where koha-http.conf says: ..... DocumentRoot /usr/local/koha/opac/htdocs/ ServerName server.ip.address ..... I needed to add something like: ..... DocumentRoot /usr/local/koha/opac/htdocs/ <Directory "/usr/local/koha/opac/htdocs"> Order allow,deny Allow from ... Deny from ... </Directory> ServerName server.ip.address ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/koha/ /usr/local/koha/opac/cgi-bin/ <Directory "/usr/local/koha/opac/cgi-bin"> Order allow,deny Allow from ... Deny from ... </Directory> ..... This may be due to running Koha on a server that's pretty well tied up from the outside world, or a messy apache2 config - but I just thought I'd have a victory dance and share. So, Koha 2.2 can run on SuSE9.1/Apache2. There ya go. Off to wrestle MacOS now :-) Cheers! Still we did not succeed in using KOHA for our libraries

Hi all, We, the Addis Ababa University Libraries, have still problems with KOHA 2.2.0. We have configured KOHA 2.2.0 on Linux platform - Redhat 9 Professional Edition on a Dell PC of high capacity. Some of the links in the Circulation module do not work properly: ISSUE and RETURN, editing member data, etc. Whene you click the link buttons you will see Error 500. Similarly, the OPAC module could not search books entered during cataloging. Can anybody help us on the problem. Is there a problem of using Koha 2.2.0 on Redhat 9 Professional Edition? A question about Issuing rules

Hi! Working with Koha version 2.2 we find the following problem: Our University has 2 library branches, as each one has different issuing rules we completed the boxes for each branch in the parameters section. However, when we are borrowing, the system automatically sets the due date the same day we borrow the material. Aparently, the system is not considering the issuing rules we had defiened.
