I still haven't solved my bulkmarcimport problems but I have gotten a chance to play around with it a little bit more so I do have a little bit more information to furnish. As mentioned before, when I run bulkmarcimport.pl I get the following: DBD::mysql::db do failed: Access denied for user 'admin'@'localhost' to database 'Koha' at /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules//C4/Biblio.pm line 333. I've set set Koha_conf to /etc/koha.conf, and can access the database using the given username and password with mysql just fine. Line 333 is where MARCaddbiblio does: "lock tables marc_biblio WRITE,marc_subfield_table WRITE, marc_word WRITE, marc_blob_subfield WRITE, stopwords READ" After I run the script and get the error, I can check the catalog or the database and find that the script has successfully imported the marc information, but hasn't created any items for the entry -- when I search for the book in the catalog it shows me the entry but says "no copies available". I've been looking at the scripts to try to figure something out, but I don't actually know any perl, so it's pretty slow going. I've been vaguely thinking about just writing something to, after all of the marc information is imported, create an item entry for each marc entry, but it seems to me that this is something of a silly thing to do if bulkmarcimport.pl is supposed to do it. thanks, Will wmacfarl(a)gmail.com _______________________________________________ Koha mailing list Koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha

Señor: Garikoitz Araolaza Respetado Señor Garikoitz actualmente se esta desarrollando un proyecto para contar con una biblioteca digital en una de las dependencias de la Universidad Distrital del estado de Colombia y en una investigación preliminar se encontro el aplicativo de koha el cual cumple con todas nuestras expectativas sin embargo como usted sabe este aplicativo no tiene actulmente una versión en español no obstante observe una respuesta por mail del señor Norberto Ottogalli de la Universidad de Cordoba en el que le comunicaba que esta Universidad estaba en un proceso de traducción del aplicativo en el mes de junio De manera atenta le solicito que por favor me comunique en que estado se encuentra este proceso y que posibilidad hay que usted me envie la version del koha en español. I have loaded a new (French) document on http://www.kohadocs.org -- Manuel dutilisation de Koha by "Boris Gapihan, Christelle Le Borgne, Fabien Malclès, Marie-France Palestro (élèves conservateurs à l'ENSSIB, promotion DCB14)" This is an OpenOffice .sxw file, so you will need OO to access it. I am working on xml and xhtml versions, but this is an extensive document and it will take some time to convert it. Chinese Input

Sorry about all these inquiries. I went to the Koha demo, and added a user in Chinese, I was able to search the user record by typing Chinese. But I wasn't able to add a book record, so not really able to verify whether Koha can search Chinese books. I was thinking since it allows for search in Chinese for user record, it should allow for search for books in Chinese? I really need to get this verified before moving forward.
