problem getting Koha to start

Hi, I have installed Koha. The web page which states 'Welcome to Koha' is called index.html and is located in /usr/local/koha/intranet/htdocs. In Apache, I created an alias or virtual directory called libkoha which points to the directory /usr/local/koha/intranet The web address http://localhost/libkoha/htdocs calls up the 'Welcome page'. But the page is now unable to find a program entitled 'mainpage.pl'. I edited index.html by putting .. before the absolute address to this file. I noticed the file is in the parent directory. Now it prompts me for a program to run mainpage.pl. I point it to Perl and it downloads mainpage.pl. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated. Configuring Apache to work with Koha

Koha (intranet) Z39.50 search window stops without displaying results.

Howdy! I'm a linux guy, been using and abusing it for at least 5 years, and I started volunteering as an IT guy to help out an organization with some of their tech needs. They needed a better solution for the small library (~3000 books) that they had, which was running a windows based library solution on an old desktop. It wasn't doing everything they wanted, but if they could get better, they said they'd run a *nix based solution. Well, one of the video editor for the organization had stumbled across Koha, and thought it might work, only he had no experience in linux. So I got them to let me upgrade a box, put Fedora Core 4 on it (tried Ubuntu 5.10 but it didn't like the hardware), followed the kohadocs.org prep intructions, and then installed Koha 2.2.4. It works wonderfully except for two things: One, I get an Internal Server Error whenever a user logs in and "Request"s a book from the search page. However, that can be lived with for now. Two, and the real problem is that over half the books are being cataloged, and the librarian doesn't want to have to enter all of the information. So I found out about Koha's z3950, and tried to run it. I started up the z3950-daemonlaunch.sh in rc.local, and it does just fine, runs like a charm with no errors. I tail the log file in /usr/local/koha/log/z3950*-##########.log, and when we try to add a biblio, it searches for, and find the records from LOC and several other servers, including Canada's national library server. The log lists that up to 80 possible records have been found for one search. However, the popup window will never display the results. Even though the log file tells that results were found, the popup will stop refreshing, display the final window that should have the records found, and say "Nothing found". I have searched the koha mailing lists for a good several days now, the Net::z3950 module information sites, and gone through the newsgroups. It tried: - a modification that needed to be made to /usr/local/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/search.pl, according to the gmame list, - editing the z3950 client files, - a "upgrade" reinstall of koha, just to make sure - I temporarily disabled the local firewall for the library server just to make sure it isn't the firewall, and - I have tried every thing else on this list that I can find that applies to 2.2.4, that hasn't already been added to it. - I even tried running the proceszz3950(sp?) script as a final test just to make sure it didn't run correctly. - I have checked the error logs for any errors occurring at the time of the search: there are none, just some related to my first mentioned problem. - I have made sure that Z39.50 searches are conducted with the title and the ISBN. Here is my configuration: - PIII 1Ghz - 256 MB Ram - Perl 5.8.6 - all Perl modules recommended by kohadocs.org installation manual, - installed perl Bundle::KohaSupprt, just to make sure. - PERL5LIB is set to correct directory and all modules are seen by perl so far, - Apache 2.0.54, - MySQL 4.1.11, - gateway ipf is set to allow all connections and related/established connections for this computer on main firewall, and - local iptables set to allow all connections for the z3950 servers. I've been banging my head against the wall for days, and the librarian is getting a little frustrated. I'd like to keep koha and linux, if I can, but if I can't get the z3950 search to work like it did on the old software, then they may go back to the old software and Windows 98. <look-of-horror>. What's worse is that I can manually connect with Yaz to search for results and I can retrieve them, so I know it's something to do with the interaction of the Z3950 client and the popup window. Internal Server Error

Dear All I'm from Indonesia, I new in Koha, and I have allready Installing Koha 2.2.4 at Ubuntu 5.04 Linux. Everything seem Ok, but after inputing data such as add Member, when I Click "Save", the at memberentry.pl, show error like this : Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, wandaramdan(a)gmail.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. questions (PDF-API2 0.3r77, z39.50 lookup)

I added some lines to my bulkmarcimport script to add the appropriate 942 and 952 fields to my marc files before importing them and to give a barcode to each item, and this seems to be working great. I still get: DBD::mysql::db do failed: Access denied for user 'admin'@'localhost' to database 'Koha' at /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules//C4/Biblio.pm line 333. DBD::mysql::db do failed: Access denied for user 'admin'@'localhost' to database 'Koha' at /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules//C4/Biblio.pm line 382. for each entry, but this doesn't seem to cause any trouble. Now I'd really like to get z39.50 lookup and barcode generation working. When I try to generate barcodes I get 500 internal server error with " Can't locate PDF/API2/P DF/Utils.pm in @INC " type errors in the error log. I'm using the newest version of PDF::API2, and I read that I need to revert to version 0.3r77, I just don't know where to find this version. I've tried searching CPAN with no luck. So if anyone can point me to pdf::api2 0.3r77 I'd be grateful. Also, I've been having troulbe with z39.50. The z39.50 server seems to respond to my query, but the pop-up window in the intranet interface always shows 'no results'. It used to refresh to 404 -- http://192.168.2.3:8080/cgi-bin/koha/z3950/0 and the page shows "The requested URL /cgi-bin/koha/z3950/0 was not found on this server.", but I followed the advice of an earlier thread ( http://lists.katipo.co.nz/public/koha/2005/004952.html ) and replaced line 103 of /z3950/search.pl, and now it just goes to 'no results found'. Someone in an earlier thread ( http://lists.katipo.co.nz/public/koha/2005/005009.html ) seems to have had a very similar problem that was solved by adding stopwords to the database, but I have "AND" and "THE" in my stopwords list and my problem persists. thanks for the help, the school is getting a barcode scanner sometime next week, and we're all pretty excited about having a functioning library for the first time! Hi I'm having problems with my z39.50 server configuration. I added the Library of congress server, as I think it has the largest database. The values I wrote down in each row look like this Z39.50 Server: LIBRARYOFCONGRESS Hostname:z3950.loc.gov Port:7090 Database:voyager Userid: Password: Checked (searched by default):1 Rank (display order):1 Syntax : MARC21 as I understood, now when I search in the catalouge section, any book that is in the LC database, should be there. Well it isn't. Did I do something wrong?? link between Thesaurus structure and biblioframework

Good afternoon, We have just downloaded the Koha latest version 2.2.4 but we have some problems to parameter a link between Thesaurus structure (tag 150a) with the tag 650a from the biblioframework, so when we catalogue document it's impossible to access to the thesaurus structure. I have built a thesaurus structure for "Topical term" with tags 150 - 350 - 450 and 550. Of course we work with MARC 21 I would be very grateful if you could tell me the right parameters.
