Errors are reported in the log files, by default they will be in koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz. Also, when you reply, use they "reply to all" button, that way the e-mail still gets sent to the koha mailing list as well. Branch code v. branch name

They are looking for collaboration between non profits (say The Horowhenua Library Trust, The Nelsonville Public Library) and open source projects (Koha). The grant is not meant to go to a given library or non profit - it's meant to be invested into the open source software that organisation is utilising. See: "Following Trustee approval of the Award Committee's decision in mid-September, recipients will be asked to submit plans, developed in collaboration with the organization's leadership, for the use of the award to further the organization's engagement with open source development. It is expected that these plans will involve a one to two-year time horizon and include provisions for a follow-up report to the Program in Research in Information Technology." I just don't see why this would be so much different from how Koha started - luckily for us HLT and Katipo got together to make things happen. I would think that anyone who has invested in the project - like HLT and NPL (I'm sure there are others) would be a dead ringer for getting this grant. I also don't see how $25k or $100k reinvested in Koha could be bad for the other members of the community. I'd also argue that the world wide impact of Koha would really make it a strong contender for the $100k grant. The only wrench it would throw in the works would be that if someone ended up with the grant, they'd have to sort out the tax paperwork. Hooray! This is totally a librarian project :D I am more than happy to submit a nomination, if it's okay with you all. I'd like to point out that they'll take multiple nominations, so it won't preclude other folks from nominating Koha if I nominate it. I intend to state how much money Koha has saved me as well as highlighting how very well suited Koha is to this award. It really does all of the stuff the foundation is looking for. There's a deadline of 4 August on this, so we should come together quickly to get something in. One final observation - the application calls for identifying 1-2 individuals most responsible for the project. This is one reason why it would be ideal to have more than one person nominate. We could identify more than 2 people that way :D (I wouldn't go past say 4, that way we don't look unorganised.) Because in my mind, the people that are most responsible for things and would be our best spokespeople would be Stephen Hedges Paul Poulain and Joshua Ferraro. I don't think Chris, Pate or any of the other folks that really laid the foundations for Koha are out of the question, of course. I do very much appreciate everyone elses efforts, but this application would force us to pick 2 people for the contact role so I feel very much pressed to do just that. I'm sure that the panel will realise that there are more than two people to contact and have contributed significant amounts to the project. Would you three be willing to be mentioned on the nomination petition as contacts? If none of you have the time, we really ought to find someone that can serve, but you all have always been there for me for the least of questions :D 1,000 words is very short, so this shouldn't take too long if you guys really want to nominate the project. Thanks so much for the excellent suggestion! Koha CD availability - Complimentary copies?

Hello: I'm currently enrolled in the MLS program at the University of Maryland, and I am researching "open source" software. I was wondering if Koha was available on CD via a complimentary copy? Specifically, if a library only has a dial-up connection, is there a source that will send a complimentary copy of Koha through the mail to that particular library? Continuing z39.50 madness

Hi all, I am still trying to get the biblio search working with this z39.50 daemon. I click on Catalogue, then 'Add biblio', then enter some data in the title and isbn fields, and click the Go button. The search fails to return any information and I click the 'Add New Biblio' button. From that screen I click on the 'z3950 search' and get the 'Z3950 Search Results' window up with the 'Still ?? requests to go' information bar. Hi good folks involved with Koha-- I hope this isn't just repeating something y'all have already beaten to death; But I searched the mailing list archive for references to this subject and couldn't find anything, so here goes: I recently saw that the Mellon Foundation is giving awards to groups which have contributed significantly to Open Source projects which help the typical constituency of the Mellon Foundation (this includes libraries!). There appears to be an opportunity for a decent-sized chunk of cash (25K or 100K USD) for eligible groups who've contributed staff/time/other resources for projects that Mellon approves of. From the looks of things (to me, but i'm unaffiliated with Mellon), Koha would be a good project. It's not clear to me exactly what kind of organization would need to apply to get one of the awards, however. importing data from Alexandria to Koha

I understand how to use Alexandria well enough to take care of my student's needs in our library, but I am definitely going to need our technician's help to test Koha. Searching problem in 2.2.5

All, We have installed version 2.2.5 on a Linux machine, and everything is working well except some of the searching. The keyword searching works fine, but in the advanced searching, the author, title and subject always retrieves zero, although the keyword, series title, and everything else works fine. Could you help me?
