Koha installation on 64bit box

Hi all, Recently I have a chance to install Koha on 64bit RHEL4 AS box. During Net ::Z3950 installation, it seems like Net::Z3950 having problem with yazwrap during make test. I am using yaz toolkit for RHEL3. before this I've tried once on 32bit box. Seems no problem at all. Z3950 works find. My Assumption is, it must be something to do with yaz toolkit. Maybe ndexdata should release yaz toolkit for 64 bit OS, or anybody who expert in compiling from source code to 64 bit compilation could help? This is Heidi again, hi folks :) Here is my system, first off: Server information Koha version 2.2.5 OS version ('uname -a') Linux ubuntu 2.6.15-23-386 #1 PREEMPT Tue May 23 13:49:40 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux Perl version 5.008007 MySQL version mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.21, for pc-linux-gnu (i486) using readline 5.1 Apache version I have been trying to run the rebuildnonmarc.pl script in preparation for the import. I first got this error. subroot@ubuntu:/usr/local/koha/intranet/scripts/misc$ perl rebuildnonmarc.plCan't locate C4/Context.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.7 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.7 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at rebuildnonmarc.pl line 10. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at rebuildnonmarc.pl line 10. After many tries at the syntax, i finally figured out the command to export the variables: subroot@ubuntu:/usr/local/koha/intranet/scripts/misc$ perl rebuildnonmarc.pl export PERL5LIB="/usr/local/koha/intranet/modules" export KOHA_CONF="/etc" read_config_file(/etc/koha.conf) returned undef at /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules/C4/Context.pm line 229. read_config_file(/etc/koha.conf) returned undef at /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules/C4/Context.pm line 229. This script rebuilds the non-MARC DB from the MARC values. You can/must use it when you change your mapping. For example : you decide to map biblio.title to 200 (it was previously mapped to 610) : run this script or you will have strange results in OPAC ! syntax : ./rebuildnonmarc.pl -h (or without arguments => shows this screen) ./rebuildnonmarc.pl -c (c like confirm => rebuild non marc DB (may be long) -t => test only, change nothing in DB Died at rebuildnonmarc.pl line 35. So I had a different error! Yay! But then today I tried to run the script again under sudo (I figured maybe I didn't have permission to read koha.conf) and got "Can't locate C4/Context.pm in @INC..." again. Then I tried to run it again, entered exactly as i did yesterday (see 2nd error) and I still got the @INC business. I am stuck. does anyone have a tip on this? Thank you much, Heidi Lowe

Hello to all of you! I have started fixing the authorities and when I press the three dots next to 100a subfield to go to the authorities no pop-up with the authorities appears. Do I have to do something to connect subfield to the database? Does anybody know where can I find the cvs rel_2_2 opac version to download it? Thank you very very much Georgia Katsarou

changes to marc structure and authorities

Hello! I am an new Koha user and I have some questions just to be sure that I won't destroy anything. We have passed nearly 4000 titles to Koha but the marc structure is not right and we have not made the settings for the authorities from the beginning. If we make all the necessary changes and fix the authorities now we are going to cause any damage to the records that already exist in the system? Moreover I was wondering if we can somehow change the interface of the OPAC or find more themes. We are an academic library and sometimes we have 65 copies of the same textbook. When we make a search on the certain title at the OPAC, at the "Available at" column it shows the location of each copy making huge lists since we talk about 65 copies. We do not have any branches and we named our library "Main" so there is no reason for the opac to show that we have 65 copies in the "Main". Thank you very much Georgia Katsarou

Martin, many thks for replying. I have tried full acquisition, but still can not get the barcode autocalculated. Is there any things that I miss in setup? Hi, Recently, I have been testing Koha installation on RedHat Ent. ES and AS 4. I've got the same problem on libssl.so.5 and etc. the dependencies keep on going. I have resolve it by installing libxml2-devel and zlib-devel package. Maybe you can try it on CentOS. (I am also planning to do installation on CentOS in the near future). Hope it will help. I installed the openssl from the dries repository cd /etc/yum.repos.d/ sudo wget http://soundlinuxtraining.com/portal/file.php/1/misc/dries.repo sudo rpm --import http://dries.studentenweb.org/rpm/RPM-GPG-KEY.dries.txt however that didn't seem to finish the job. if anyone has any clues on those three packages it would be great, looking forward to reporting back with a completed effort. I set this option "on" and turn off marc support (as instructed b user manual). However, when add biblio item, we still have to add manually the barcode into the textbox. Migrating Data from Windows to Linux

I installed Koha for windows initially and catalogued my entire collection. I have now successfully installed Koha on Linux and would like to use the same database. I tried copying the database folder onto the linux database folder, but it doesnt seem to work. How do I use my earlier data? Maddy
