Date problems adding new members

On a new Koha 2.2.8 using either the default or npl templates and adding a new member leaving the joining and expiry date fields blank results in no date being inserted. Also when manually entering the joining date the expiry date is still not auto calculated. I checked liblime's demo and it works there. Can someone point me to the section of code that's supposed to do this? I've looked at memberentry.tmpl for both templates and memberentry.pl and am having difficulty following what the code is doing. There's also nothing in the error log. Thanks, Mike D.

Koha 3 and Greenstone

Friends, I recently had a guy from UNESCO ask me if future releases of Koha would have "Greenstone-like features". I think he wants his ILS and his digital library in one single app. I immediately said, "I don't think so." But then I thought, zebra is a pretty powerful text indexing engine and most of the files in my digital library are text pdfs (they have been OCRed). hi, at work we are using a windows based software called 'aguapey'. It uses marc format but i can´t figure out how to import those data into koha. Koha mysql error

I need help. I believe, anyone here could be my savior. I installed Koha 2.2.8 on a Fedora Core 5 with Apache 2.2.4, MySQL 5.0.37. In the Perl Modules, I got this message in red: PERL MODULES Checking perl modules ... Subroutine PDF::API2::Resource::Font::Postscript::O_RDONLY redefined at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/Exporter.pm line 65. at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/PDF/API2/Resource/Font/Postscript.pm line 46 The installation proceeded but when I got to the database portion, here's what I got: CREATING DATABASE Creating the MySQL database for Koha... ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'kohaadmin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) DBI connect('Koha:localhost','kohaadmin',...) failed: Access denied for user 'kohaadmin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) at /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules/C4/Context.pm line 411 Can't call method "prepare" on an undefined value at scripts/updater/updatedatabase line 1553. Problem updating database... I logged in as root to the mysql server, and then repeated the process. Dear Khaled I will advice you to read and learn about MARC format. There is no MFN and ACC No Field in MARC but you can use locally assigned numbers in 9xx tags. For example in koha, MARC code 952$p is used for barcode which is like Acc number in Winisis. Similarly you can use Biblio Record No instead of MFN. You can add multiple copies of one title in one Biblio Record number. Bookbag "Send" Email Probems and Virtual Shelves Not Working

We'd love to be able to use the "bookbag" feature in the OPAC, but when a patron sends an email to me with their bookbag items in it, I have no idea who it's from as Koha always uses my email address [the system administrator] as the "sender" and does not include the patron's email address or record number. My second problem is that I would love to use the Virtual Shelves as well, but when I select an item and then click on "Add to Virtual Shelf", nothing happens---the window just sits there! Not sure what's going on there. Any advice/help you could render would be appreciated. Koha Marc Fields

We just installed Koha and have finished a trial run to see if it is a program that will work for us (i.e. replace Athena). We feel it has everything we need. Now we need a little push to help us set it up. So this may be the first of many questions to come :) I set up a Biblio-Framework (biblio-framework.pl) for our organization and can see all the Marc Fields. But when an admin goes to add a biblio (addbiblio.pl), not all the fields are seen there. What needs to be done in order to set the fields we want to see for biblio records we create? Dear Congratulations, if you are going to install koha on linux just for Z39.50, then you dont need to do that. Koha DB framework mapping problem and side effects

Hi, I am unable to return anything from subject searches in OPAC although when I look at the bibliosubject.subject field within the mysql db the data I am searching for does exist (and there are numbers in the bibliosubject.biblionumber fields as well). I setup my framework to have MARC field 650a link to bibliosubject.subject. Additionally, when I run the MARC Check I receive no errors. Two important side notes: 1. When I do the OPAC 'any word' search I DO return results. 2. When I run the rebuildnonmarc perl script after adjusting the framework I receive an error but it does seem to make the changes ( or perhaps this is the cause of the problem) -- This error follows my email becuase it is quite long.
