We are just in the testing stage of Koha, so I thought it would be safe and better to go on ahead and install Koha 3.0 alpha now so we can continue to evaluate the product. It would occur if I didn't fill all the mandatory fields, and also if the system had timed out. Hope that helped, Brooke

Unable to add patrons

Kia ora, I have just started using koha and am having trouble adding patrons. Although I am am able to add biblio entries, when I try to add members, the details are not recorded. Upon saving, the membership record is completely blank. I couldn't find an answer to this problem in the old posts or in forums elsewhere. If anyone can help I would be most grateful... Help Git unable to connect a socket (Connection refused)

Hello! While trying to create a kohaclone using git I encountered this error message: ... unable to connect a socket (Connection refused) after reading the documentation on the Git homepage it looks like my connection to Git is blocked by our firewall, also it was mentioned that it may be possible to clone a git project using the http protocol, which is considerably slower but works even behind firewalls I tried it changing the protocol on the URL and this is what I get : aslan@tek1:~$ git clone http://git.koha.org/home/pub/scm/koha.git kohaclone Initialized empty Git repository in /home/aslan/kohaclone/.git/ Cannot get remote repository information. Perhaps git-update-server-info needs to be run there? Will this be possible on the koha git repository in the future? I may not be able to convince our ISP to open our firewall for Git :) Thanks! Dear Mohamed Fekry Negm, First you create a folder with the name of patronimages in the following location. C:\Usr\Koha228\Intranet\htdocs\ Now you can add patron pictures in to the patronimages folder. IMP NOTE:- 1) Change Setup In Koha Intranet parameters System preferences admin circulation module patronimages modify ( 0 Zero )as jpg 2) Image file name should be the Member Card number.jpg If any problem give mail to me. Internal Server Error

Hi. I've got everything loaded. I've edited and deleted records. Unfortunately, I am unable to add anything from an empty biblio with the default framework. Any suggestions about what might be going wrong? The error message is: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, oftl(a)critfc.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. ************************************************ My system administrator will be checking the log, but I've also received this error when trying to load Authority records. I'm glad that we're seducing folks back from skeevy ILS peddlers. Really, at the end of the day, a whole bunch of ILS vendors are willing to say anything they think we want to hear. They are all too willing to make ridiculous promises that they have no intention of ever delivering on. "Try Pirelli's Miracle elixir..." As for veiled insults, I don't do well with that sort of thing. I've got into more trouble than someone meek would for speaking my mind about a hard right over an easy wrong, particularly when the things I say aren't flattering. Pulling one's punches doesn't make for progress, and I'd rather have progress. That said, I think one can generally go further with kindness than nastiness, particularly when working as a team. Koha proves that hypothesis a million times over. :) But in order that the record is accurate, I am the black sheep of this field, and it's a reputation I've earned. Cheers, Brooke
