So I did a full dist-upgrade of Debian Lenny the other day (following the whole SSL debacle) and now Koha will no longer open. This is just a test machine, but I like to have everything working so we can continue testing. Anyway at first the Apache error log looked like this: --------- BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /home/myuser/kohaclone/opac/opac-main.pl line 22. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /home/myuser/kohaclone/opac/errors/500.pl line 21. ---------- I found that my Perl modules were actually located under 5.8.0. I fixed that just using a symbolic link, and most errors went away. Problems with Z39.50 clients

Hello , I am using Koha 3 Beta, but when I configure the Z39.50 clients, the searching in other libraries don 't work, the other library is another installation of Koha 3 in a machine in the same network. How can I know the zebra's database name and the hostname. Thanks.

Vhost and Permissions Prob

I think we have Koha 3 beta 2 installed on our OpenSuse server, but we have a possible permissions error or vhost address problem when trying to http into it. The specific error is: Using http://127.0.0.2 -and- http://127.0.0.2:80 -------------- Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. ------------- If we try http://127.0.0.1 or http://127.0.0.3, these result in the default apache page (It works!) This seems to be a frequent problem, since the 'net has lots of posts on the subject. I'm wading through some of that, but with specific reference to koha does anyone have any suggestions? Koha for Libraries

Hello: I'm sorry about the non-descriptive subject line! A short introduction: I'm helping the Akshara Foundation [1] implement Koha across their 400 odd libraries in Bangalore and we are working with a developer in Bangalore to do the customizations for us. We have a peculiar set of requirements: 1. The patron database [2] is, as of now, housed externally from Koha as that database exists for other common projects too. We need to find a way for Koha to access that database to be able to pull patron and branch information out of it. As of now, we're looking at exporting the data from the KLP DB (where it is stored) via CSV and importing that into Koha on a periodic basis. 2. The book DB will be stored within Koha but as of now it exists as a set of Excel files. We need to import that into Koha. 3. We also need to be able to send the transactional information back to the KLP DB for aggregation and GIS based display. We're using the Koha 3 Beta. Where we need some help is, at this early stage,: 1. In understanding the data model for Koha wrt to patrons, books and transactions. The last one because we also have transaction collected in Excel sheets. 2. Ways and methods to import xls or csv files into Koha for patrons and books. 3. Ways and methods to make available to KLP transactional information so that they can generate reports. We've only just begun this project. One additional complication is that out of the 400 libraries a significant number don't have internet access so we also have to think/find a way to have an offline method of capturing transactions. One way we've considered is to use the transaction importer we hope to write to then, on a fortnightly basis, import the xls/csv files that we receive from the offline schools. Thank you. Hi, I'm sorry if somebody had already answered a similar question and I have missed it I have configured Koha 2.2.9 on Debian Etch. Its working well but when I try to print the Barcode/Configure the printer form the Barcode generation page, the destination perl script gets downloded instead of doing the work.. When i opened the downloaded .pl file, it was empty.. Somebody pls help me out soon, because we are working on Koha Popularization project from this month. Hi all i'm already beginning in install koha3 on ubuntu 7.10 ,no problem with apache 2.2.4 , mysql 5 and set root password , perl V5.8.8.7 and from Synaptic Package Manager i added all modules and files for YAZ, CPAN. is it correct way or not and what's the next steps to install koha 3 i'm a confused for the correct way to do that could you please guide me to execute this mission. upgrading koha from v1.2.3 to the latest version v2.2

We have a very old koha library v1.2.3 with mysql v.3.xx. Now my boss wanna upgrade this old koha library to the latest version. Anyone has any idea how to upgrade koha and migrate data to the new database? As I think there might be lots of changes in koha and database. Do I have to upgrade from 1.2.3 to 1.3, to 1.9, to 2.0 and then to 2.2 one by one? Or Is there any better way to do that? Dear All, I'm trying to run Koha 2.2.7 using MySql 5.0. I could issue/return books. But the problem is regarding searching of books. HI, I am working in a library with computer science back ground and new to koha. I donot know much about it. I need help in joining date of patrons , when i add a patron i do not give the joining date of the person. then i edit this patron, today joining date of this person is not displayed and i cannot add its joining date again. i want to edit the joining date of the patron how can i do it .
