Hello, I am just beginning to put books on the computer for our school library. We had been using version 1.2.4 (I think). We are now using 3.0. In the old version there was a place for Item Type, which is Fiction, non-fiction, young adult, etc, which I have been able to figure out and edit in version 3.0. In the old version there was a category - Classification, which was what was on the spine label...so the students, if they looked the book up on the electronic card catalog, would know where to locate the book on the shelf. Is Classification in the old version the same thing as Shelving Location in 3.0 and if so, how do I get in to it to edit it (right now it has Biography, Fiction, New Book Shelf (twice), and Reference, when I click on it). Or is Koha Full Call Number where I should fill in what is on the spine label? I hope my question is clear and someone will be able to answer it. I'm kind of stuck until then. Thanks. cannot add bibliographic data into the system

Dear All I'm new in Koha, and I have already Installed Koha 2.2.9 on Ubuntu 6.06 Linux. Everything seem Ok. i have added members and can even search for members in database.i can even search LC databases using z3950 and importing them but when i try adding bibliographic data to the databases it show error like this : Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, rehoboth_ils(a)yahoo.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. The server error log has the following errors: 1. premature end of script headers: addbiblio.pl, referer:: old biblionumber=0&Z3950=1&breeding id=86 2.file doesn't exist: usr/local/koha/intranet/htdocs/intranet-tmpl/dafault/en/includes/intranet.css, referer: http:192.168.1.173:8080/cgi-bin/koha/Z3950/sarch.pl 3. Q2:select distinct m1.bibid from biblioitems, marc_biblio,marc_word as m1,marc_word as m2,marc_word as m3,marc_word as m4,marc_word as m5,marc_word as m6,marc_word as m7,,marc_word as m8, marc subfield_table as m9 where biblio.biblionumber=marc_biblionumber and biblio.biblio.number=biblioitems.b... please tell me what is wrong with my installation and how can i solve it Thanks in advance

Circ Checkout without Item Barcode?

Most of the members of our consortium will be migrating to K3 from Follett Circulation+. When checking out or checking in an item, Follett gives you the ability to search quickly by title or other means, if the barcode for some reason is not available. It appears in K3 that the only way easily to check out/in an item is via the barcode. Is this truly the case, or am I missing something? Is there a module or add-on that might provide the capability? cannot add bibliographic due to server problems

Hi everybody, I installed koha-2.2.9 on ubuntu 6.06. it appears to be working- i have added new members which and i can even search for members. Have also tested z3950 and it imports records from LC. Zebra indexing rebuilding problems for hindi language

hi all we are testing the koha 3 bata 2 version on CENTOS 5. zebra server is working properly and rebuilding the indexing for English books but when we inputed Hindi language books it stop indexing and rebuilding when we run the script /zebraqueue_daemon.pl it give the following error we use window xp client and mangal font opentype font. Indexing with Java

Hi I want to use Marc4j(Java API for dealing with MARC records) to index koha using lucene(A Java indexing tool) so that I can implement a cross search between two applications while giving the result to the user in a manner transparent as to where the records came from such that the user can click on a link and will be redirected to koha to get more info about the item e.g. a book and maybe reserve it. Does anyone know how this can be done. Please help me. Thanks.

koha add member problem

I am using following versions to install Koha in windows XP Koha229 Apache2.2 MySql Server 5.0 Activeperl-5.8.8.822-MSIWin32-x86-280952. It is working fine to create catalogue and able to search OPAC but FACING PROBLEM TO ADD MEMBER DATA. Member data is not saving in the database and resulting template showing blank (SHOWING NO ERROR MESSAGE). Please provide me the solution.

Sorry, I don't have much other firm info to offer. I do know that 3M has an RFID system, but it may be Windows based too, and while I would expect it to be very good it's probably a bit pricey. Checkpoint has an RFID system, but as I recall it's also Windows based. Treat these comments with a little caution, I haven't looked an them too closely recently; most of what I know except for Envisionware is just from me visiting booths at shows and being given informational literature. Also, I don't want to minimize Envisionware incorrectly; they really do have a very slick, well coordinated system. Part of the way they get it all to work together is that they specify a lot of the components of the system, which they have integrated to work right, but that does mean buying "stuff" from them and MS. Except for the MS lock-in I certainly have nothing bad to say about Envisionware, even their sales/support people seem pretty good. Instead of use the file installer/data/mysql/en/marcflavour/unimarc/mandatory/authorities_normal_unimarc.sql i use the frence one and all is OK. The frence file is here: installer/data/mysql/fr-FR/marcflavour/unimarc_complet/Obligatoire/autorites_norme_unimarc.sql I have also transalte the french into english. If anyone want the english file, I will send it to him. I send a tecnical information to koha-dev list.
