search feature in cataloguing and circulation

I am running the latest version of Koha 3.0 Beta. On the administration page under catolguing it does not display the books catologued. It only gives a new record option and has the search button above. The search button only recognizes the first letter of the first word of the title. If you type in the whole word, it will yield no results. The circulation will not yield any results no matter what. The advanced search tab is the same. independent and single branch option doesnt seem to work

the default was chosen upon installation to allow sample material such as libraries and patrons. I created another library and set it as the library being used. After doing this I selected in the administration: system preferences: admin tab to "on" the independent and single branch feature. After this, I do a patron search and all of the sample patrons from the sample libraries still show. All of the drop down menus that pertain to libraries still have all of the sample libraries showing. Hi everyone and thanks, Well, a step forward. Now I am getting "production mode - trapped fatal error" on port 8080. I killed the koha database, and went through the koha installation again. I am not sure what the problem may be. "Make test" went without error. If I use koha.mydomain.org:8080 I get the error message I just mentioned. If I use localhost:8080 I get the apache default "it works" page. I tried a manual install of CGI::Session, and while it went OK, it did not fix the problem, as you can see below. (During installation of CGI::Session, tests indicated that it could not attach to the mysql db, but this did not stop the installation.) OPAC search problems in version 3

Searching seems to be working on the intranet side of things, but I get no search results on the OPAC. Koha without MARC

Hello: I've been looking to use Koha without MARC support. Is this possible in Koha 3 and what are the upsides and downsides to not using MARC? The reason I ask is that it'll be so much easier to import books into the system, from our current Excel sheets, rather than using MARC or so I assume. Hi list, I have Koha 2.2.9 installed on Apache 2.2.4 and openSuSE 10.3. I am having troubles with running a z39.50 search on other online libraries. I made the mistake of sending a message on a Friday afternoon, and got no responses, probably because everyone was gone for the weekend. Is there anyone reading the list today that could help me? I would like to get a copy of the most stable, bug-free set of V2.2.9 files that I can find so I can rebuild the win32 install package. I am hoping to reduce the amount of frustration users encounter when they do a new install and run into bugs that have already been squashed and patched. Hopefully it should also cut down on the amount of repeat traffic on the list. Is there any chance that Liblime, BibLibre, or one of the other organizations would be willing to provide me with a tarball of 2.2.9 files that would include patches and fixes that have been made since the original release? Or is there a repository somewhere that would include bug fixes? Thanks much! Or is there an up-to-date copy of 2.2.9 including bug fixes in some other repository? Or is there at least a list of known issues with suggested patches somewhere? Since 2.2.9 is the latest "stable" release, I am hoping those files have been maintained somewhere and patches for bugs applied as they were discovered and fixed. HTTP OPAC Vhost - Koha 3 on OpenSuse 10.3

We are still having problems http'ing into the OPAC using Koha 3 on OpenSuse 10.3. We've tried setting the Koha virtual/localhost on 127.0.0.2 (and others, like 127.0.0.5 and 127.0.0.10). From the browser we get the following error: ------------------- Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. /*what would it be trying to access / for anyway? Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
