Catalog searches working with Keyword search but not with Title and Author in Koha 3

Hi list, Like I said in previous posts, I'm running Koha in a Xen virtual machine running Linux (openSUSE 10.3), Apache 2.2.4 and MySQL 5.0.45. I'm running the Koha 3 developer snapshot that was available yesterday (28-May-2008). The Koha database version is 3.00.00.086. I'm using UNIMARC. I have disabled Zebra, by setting the "NoZebra" System Preference to ON. I have also set the "singleBranchMode" System Preference to ON. The bibliographic records were inserted in Koha by running the bulkmarcimport.pl script "through" an ISO file (that contained about 9000 bibliographic records of articles): # /root/Koha/misc/migration_tools/bulkmarcimport.pl -c UNIMARC -file /root/myfile.iso My problem is that only "Keyword" searches in the Catalog are working (and NOT searches in other fields, like in the Title or in the Author fields). For instance, in the OPAC search page - http://hostname/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl - I'm searching for "networks" (without the quotes). I'm leaving the "Keyword" option as the dropdown option selected (for the first of the 3 dropdown lists that appear), writing "networks" (without the quotes) in the text box at its right and clicking in the "OK" blue button at the bottom of the page. I then get redirected to the search results page that has the following URL: http://hostname/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?idx=kw&q=networks&idx=kw&idx=kw… This search returns 154 results: _______________ "kw,wrdl: networks" returned 154 results _______________ Many of these search results have the word "networks" in its Title (as it would be expected), for instance: _______________ 1. koha install fails with database error

I'm installing the latest koha 2 on Ubuntu 8.04, and installation fails with the following error: CREATING DATABASE Creating the MySQL database for Koha... ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'kohaadmin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) DBI connect('Koha:localhost','kohaadmin',...) failed: Access denied for user 'kohaadmin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) at /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules/C4/Context.pm line 411 Can't call method "prepare" on an undefined value at scripts/updater/updatedatabase line 1553. hi all i'm working now on installing koha 3 using the install file in koha . i'm installed mysql 5,apache 2 and perl 5.8 my basic problem how to run this $ sudo dpkg --set-selections < install_misc/debian.packages this command didn't running i don't know why may be i made some thing wrong .. any help thank's to every body sent to me Regards

I am using koha 3, and I am running zebra. I have added a z-server but when I make a search koha do no search in the z-server added, I don't know what is the reason. Tell me if I have to configure somthing. Thank you

Collection codes / Item types (3.0)

We're a new Koha library and have a question about how item types & ccodes work -- Can more than one item type or ccode be assigned to an item? My understanding is that the answer is No for item types and Yes for ccodes. This item at Stow-Munroe Falls, for example, seems to have two collection codes assigned to it, Adult CDROM Document (ADOC) and CDROM's (ROM): http://opac.smfpl.org/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?bib=10656 This has come up because, as a library automating for the first time, we're just starting to wrap our heads around how we can use Koha to provide the search functionality we're looking for. Specifically, we'd like to be able to limit searches by a number of different criteria, which are not necessarily mutually exclusive, e.g.: Format: Books, Movies (DVD vs. VHS), Music, Audiobooks (CD vs. cassette vs. digital), Serials, Websites, etc. Collections: Large Print, Biography, Local History, Reference, New Books Genre: Fiction, Nonfiction (& ideally subgenres -- mysteries, romance, etc.) Audience: Adult, Young Adult, Kids (pre-school, elementary school, pre-adolescent) The idea is to provide this functionality through limits based on a variety of methods: checkboxes, pulldown menus, & facets (Refine Your Search). I'm new to Koha & I've forgotten 95% of whatever I learned about MARC back in library school, so there are too many moving parts for me right now. Hi there, We are running Koha 2.2.2. We wish to move to a RFID ystem for self issuing, auto-returning and minor sorting, and stock counting reasons. I have read through literature from EnvisionWare, TechLogicand Bibliotheca. I am very impressed with the solutions offered by Envisionware, including the smart cardtype issues around topping up a card via crecit card or cash and using ir for internet access, photocopying, prinitng, issue charges etc. EnvisionWare apparently have clients running Evergreen, but they weren't sure about Koha. So my question is, do any libraries out there running 2.0.x have any comments, observations or advice they would be willing to share about RFID vendors and systems in relation to Koha. regards, Joann Ransom. Hi, Looking at Full circulation, RFID and 3M Tattle Tape are the only solutions. Since u r using barcodes for circulation, Tattle Tapes will be the easiest implemented system. since u can implement Self Check with both Tattle Tape + Barcode as easily as with RFID. RFID will come with its own overheads for costs and systems and again it is not the most trusted solution for security. Stock checking can be easily achieved by a handheld Barcode based DCU. It takes approx 3 times more time than RFID based device but is almost four times cheaper. In any case for Implementing Self check, u will need SIP2 or NCIP on the ILS side. I have read that KOHA has been certified by 3M for SIP2 but u will have to check to be certain. U should also look at the new RFID tag data structure being proposed by the NISO. The ean13 code may not work in Libraries. We have implemented a contactless Smart card based library card solution at a large University Library in India having the e-purse facilities u mention. Koha module Catalogue.pm required

Dear All I am using koha 2.2.8 at windows xp. When I try to run the script C:\usr\koha228\scripts\updater>perl thesaurus_create.pl it gives the following error: Can't locate C4/Catalogue.pm in @INC (@INC contains: c:\usr\koha228\intranet\mod ules C:/usr/site/lib C:/usr/lib .) at thesaurus_create.pl line 26. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at thesaurus_create.pl line 26. It means i don't have Catalogue.pm module installed. From where i can download this module? koha 2.2.5 problem with perl modules when identifying

hello all, i'm in the process to migrate koha 2.2.5 from Apache 1 to Apache 2 (2.2.6), and as i use a new machine, perl modules are newer releases.
