There should be an error log for Koha on your system; does anything show up in it when you try the Z39.50 client? Patron categories don't show in K3:

We have set our patron categories in Koha/Administration/Patron Categories, however when we go to Home/patrons and click new+ to add a new patron we do not get our list of categories but some default list. “memberofinstitution” turned on but where is the list? K3

In System Preferences Admin for Patrons we have turned on "memberofinstitution" so that we can link specific patrons(students) to specific schools and also specific patrons (novices and monks) to specific temples. We have defined the variables for the list...now the question is...where is that list? Is this a sort field so that we would be able to sort for all patrons from a particular school? Itemtype Images Not Showing in K3

I just cannot figure out what's wrong: Itemtype images refuse to appear in the item type box on the OPAC item detail page. I've installed Etch and K3 a half dozen times on different PCs with the latest beta and the result is always the same, no gif, just an X in IE or the alternate text in mozilla followed by the name of the item type. Also, in the staff client item detail page, nothing appears in the item type box, neither image nor text. Finally, I tried turning off the images in system prefs, but it appears to have no effect: results are the same as described above. Btw, no errors on install, all default locations accepted, make test had no errors, no prereqs noted as missing. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks! A brief overview on Koha 3 Beta 2

RAM) We were previously using Koha 3 Alpha on a highly loaded VPS (Xen DomU, 256 MB. RAM) and also Koha 2.2.7 to 2.2.9. These are our showcase/development installations. All of our installations go on Debian Etch. I'd really recommend to follow the INSTALL.debian notes by the LibLime folks -- maybe the only think that could be tweaked in that document is to cite what Perl packages are available in Debian in order to avoid installing them from CPAN (except for packages such as DBD::mysql) -- BTW, MJ, what's the state on Debian packages for Koha? For the first time, I installed Koha using the Zebra daemon. We weren't previously compelled to do so (we've done a couple migrations from proprietary systems, around 6K records, so we didn't need it) but now things like search by approximation are working fine (previously they didn't -- in K2 and K3 w/o Zebra) We work with spanish-speaking libraries; therefore we need to introduce latin characters (á, é, í, ó, ú and ñ) and retrieve them accordingly -- while we used the leader field to specify UTF-8 encoding and we handled the decoding/encoding of strings with Perl, we couldn't retrieve with or without the special characters. That is, a record for 'José' could only be retrieved with 'José' and not with 'Jose' -- this is working in K3. In K3 Alpha we couldn't retrieve a previously added authority, by any means. This is working flawlessly in K3 Beta. We are experiencing a performance problem, with a 404.pl script consuming up to 100% CPU when browsing the OPAC -- I'll study this with more detail this week. I see Z39.50 was revamped in K3 Beta -- that's great. This functionality is now more fresh and useful, and AFAICT, with Zebra having Z39.50 server capabilities, this could greatly improve communication between Kohas and between Kohas and proprietary, to-be-freed, ILSs. We expect to be deploying K3B2 real soon now in an important library, we believe its production-ready (despite the beta name on it) and we recommend new users to try K3 instead of going with 'stable' 2.2.9: the new features and functionalities are a no-miss. Latest patched files for V2.2.9

Where can I find a complete set of V2.2.9 files with all the latest patches and bug fixes? The download link on koha.org still takes you to the original release which includes a number of bugs. If I recall correctly, we started using git sometime after 2.2.9 was released. Were the 2.2.9 files moved over into git, and have any 2.2.9 bug fixes since the release been added to the git repository? Or is there an up-to-date copy of 2.2.9 including bug fixes in some other repository? Or is there at least a list of known issues with suggested patches somewhere? Since 2.2.9 is the latest "stable" release, I am hoping those files have been maintained somewhere and patches for bugs applied as they were discovered and fixed. Thanks, Rob

OPAC user login page/template

Hi! My colleague and I have a trivial but irritating problem: we cannot find the template for the OPAC user login page. We have found the opac-user.tmpl, but this is not the right one. Anyone who who knows the name of the right template and where to find it? (We use version 2.2.9 on Linux and CSS stylesheet). Importing records from MARC 21 file

Hello, I was imported several records into Koha from a MARC 21 file succesfully, but when I make a serch, the result set is null, any explanation to that? thanks
