I've been trying to upgrade from the beta 2 to the RC today on my Debian Etch system, but it's been giving me a lot of trouble with the Image::Magick perl module. I installed ImageMagic 6.2 via apt-get, but that's apparently not good enough. I tried installing via Perl/CPAN, but it fails without any useful failure logs (plus it's 6.4, whereas the installer wants 6.2). Any suggestions? --Michael Walker

Announcing: Koha 3.0 Stable String Freeze

Hi folks, Another quick update -- all of the translations except one have been validated (and I'll ping the translator for that translation to see if the team can fix some problems with it). I've updated http://translate.koha.org ... and now can officially declare a string freeze for 3.0. This means that you translators can update your translations on http://translate.koha.org in anticipation of the final stable release. I'd ask that you wrap things up by June 30th ... if that turns out to be too soon, let me know and I'd consider a week delay if necessary. If your translation is not listed, PLEASE EMAIL ME ON-LIST and I will add it. So ... once again, thanks to everyone for all your hard work, we're almost there! Let me know if you have any questions. Hi to allim very happy to install koha3 beta 2 on ubuntu 8 and apache 2 and mysql 5my problem is when i import record by z39.50 and already insert it in framework or fill all of fields and save that all of this ok but when search about any (author - title) in intranet or opac i get (No results match your search) i need to know why the record not savingi need help for this problem i work with zebrathnks _________________________________________________________________ News, entertainment and everything you care about at Live.com. Koha 3.0 Stable Release Plan

Hi folks, I've done an audit of the outstanding bugs in Bugzilla and have found 39 are marked as blocker, major, or critical: http://tinyurl.com/5hysmf There are an additional 157 marked 'normal': http://tinyurl.com/5apjsy Galen and I discussed the blocker, major, critical issues and concluded we could address them with a concerted effort before Monday, June 16th. I'd like to set that as the date for releasing 3.0-stableRC1, then do a string freeze, to allow translators to wrap up any changes to translations, and then a final 3.0-stable on July 1. I do request that those of you using and programming Koha take a look at the outstanding bugs in both categories, and flesh out any issues in more detail where you can -- and if you feel a bug in the 'normal' category should be prioritized, please speak out. Thanks to everyone who's contributed, even in small ways, to the major improvements to this new version of Koha. Patron PC management interface

Hello all you Koha people, Has anyone used a 3rd party PC management program, interfacing with Koha via sip2? I want to use LibraryMetricks, and they don't have any customers using Koha (that they are aware of). For example, a patron sits down at a public access library computer, but must log in. Usage is timed, etc. Log in is based on the Koha patron list, so this management program must communicate with Koha. Thus, my question.
