I have Koha installed on a Win XP system. I used the bulk import script by typing this at the command prompt: C:\usr\koha229\scripts\misc\migration_tools\bulkmarcimport.pl -file F:\work\marcfile_dat\marcfile.dat I type in Intranet in Firefox and login. I perform a search for a term I know is in the many of the records, but get no hits. I do the same search after typing OPAC in Firefox and still get no hits. How do I confirm that the records were sucessfully imported? Is this the correct script? Thanks for any help, John

Koha3 beta 2 on debian

Hi to all i install koha 3 beta 2 on debian sarge 4.0 r3 etch I follow the installation guide to install koha and everything is default setting: 1. perl Makefile.PL (you will be prompted to answer a number of questions) 2. make 3.(optional) make test 4. sudo make install 5. sudo ln -s /etc/koha/koha-httpd.conf /etc/apache2/sites-available/koha (note that the path to koha-httpd.conf may be different depending on your installation choices) 6. sudo a2enmod rewrite 7. sudo a2ensite koha && /etc/init.d/apache2 reload 8. sudo zebrasrv -f /etc/koha/koha-conf.xml (note that you will want to run Zebra in daemon mode for a production system) 9. Browse to http://servername:8080 step 9 did not get any connect and i get error : “servername” refused the connection. The server may be busy or you may have a network connection problem. Hi, I have an Existing College website running on Joomla. I plan to authenticate users using LDAP soon. Can I Install Koha in such a way that the Koha implementation uses the above said LDAP server to Authenticate users? Is there any HowTo Available on Koha LDAP Integration? Thanks Siju

The New York Times ran a cool article here: http://www.nytimes.com/pages/science/index.html entitled "The Web Time Forgot" which lends further credence to my theory that Francophones named Paul are in fact indispensable. (Not, of course, meant to mean that other French speakers are less loved!) It's a good read from a design perspective, and you can kill a couple minutes when the boss isn't looking over yer shoulder. Replacing Logo's in the Intranet

Hello: We've been trying to replace the Koha logo in the Intranet/Staff Client but have been unsuccessful. We've replaced: /intranet-tmpl/prog/img/koha-logo.gif /intranet-tmpl/prog/img/koha-logo-medium.gif But it doesn't seem to work. Are we doing this wrong? Thank you. Investigating Koha: import formats

Hi all, I'm new to the list, and have only just begun investigating Koha, so apologies if I ask any silly questions! I'm at the stage of investigating Koha to see if it is suitable for my needs, and I'd really appreciate it if I could draw on your collective expertise. I have a specific question about Koha, but I'll also give a bit of detail on my circumstances, in case anyone has any more general ideas which can help me. *A bit of background:* I work for a new archive which has a relatively substantial book collection (c. 20,000 items). Up until last year, these were completely uncatalogued and unlisted, so we've been working on a project to list our holdings. The plan is that once we have a handlist we can assess the collection, weed substantially and then put in place a formal cataloguing strategy. This last will include identifying a suitable LMS - we use DServe's CALM for the archive material, and may also put the books on there, but as it's primarily a museums / archive platform we have some reservations about that. To get a handlist quickly, we've catalogued using Readerware <http://www.readerware.com/> , which lets you scan barcodes and searches the web for the data associated with those ISBNs. Now we're at a point where we would really like to make it easy for people outside our library site to access this list, even though it's not a proper catalogue. So, we basically need a web OPAC - Readerware is not at all equipped to supply this. In the long term it would be really good to be using a standards-compliant library catalogue. so if I can migrate my data over to Koha that would be great for forward-planning. *My Koha question: *Is it possible to import data to Koha in CSV or tab-delimited format? Unfortunately, none of my existing data has MARC records - I can export into those tewo formats, so I need a database which can accept those. I strongly suspect the answer is no, but I wanted to be absolutely sure before I abandoned Koha completely. In addition, I'm hoping that if this * isn't* possible, this list of tech-savvy librarians might have good advice on alternatives. At this stage, I don't actually need a full-scale LMS - I just want a web app I can import my data to and which will allow users to seacrch by title, author, etc. (I've already explored LibraryThing, but for various reasons it's not really suitable.) It needs to be free software or very cheap, because we're so low on funds and this is an interim project.If I *could* get my data into Koha,a it would be perfect, because the full-scale LMS features are there if we need them, and the organisation would be able to buy in support if they found themseves without enough tech-savvy in house. Any advice? I'll be most appreciative of any and all help! Thanks! Lucy

Hi Thnaks to the Development Team for their hard work on fixes. It would be nice if the strings done could be accepted immediately --if it isn't a time taking process--, and the the string freeze date could be postponed to 23 June allowing us a WEEKEND TO WORK, apart from the two weeks which will be allowed after the stable release. We have completed the translation of the staff file into Turkish in addition to OPAC file, but would like to make some corrections and fill gaps which occurred during move from Alpha to Beta. installation Error on Linux

Hello List, I got an errot during installtion of koha 2.2.5 at Creating database level.Althought i checked that , it is creating database by named Koha.At the end it is also giving successfully installed message.But main problem is that it is not opening in browser.Is i need to configure our apache web server or any othe files. Koha 3 with zebra - no search results

We're evaluating Koha 3 with zebra. Both the OPAC and Intranet searches stopped returning any results once we successfully enabled LDAP support in koha-conf.xml per the man page for Auth_with_ldap.pm. problems generating barcode with biblio in hindi and indic languages

Hi all we are testing barcodes labels koha 3.0 on centos for hindi and other indic language books. when we select hindi books for barcode labels (biblo/barcode) the pdf file will not open it will give error but for english barcode generated with biblio/barcode. we want to know from the experts what is the problem. with regards dpl
