Thanks for all your help guys. After installing Koha 3.0 and some minor issues I got Koha working. Alas, it is version 2.2.9. No wonder it looked so familiar... The only thing that seems to have changed is the kohaadmin password Where can I have screwed up this time??? Thanks, Marty

Acquisitions

Hi everyone. We almost certainly will be moving to Koha in 2009 and we're currently evaluating 3.00. Could someone who is heavily using the Acquisitions module answer these questions: Does the current 3.00 Acquisitions module (or the upcoming 3.2) have this level of flexibility: Place a single order on a single purchase order with a single vendor for 8 copies of a single book to be distributed among 4 libraries, but pay for each copy of the book from independent budgets (yes, this is actually something we must do!) Handle irregular serials and standing book orders with ease (i.e. serials and books that are released on irregular or unknown intervals) Thank you! Paul

regarding marc tag and importing records

Dear Member, I have confusion regarding selecting marc tag for item type... 1) In koha...if i want to tag with marc for an item , there are two marc tag for item type like 942$c and 952$y so which tag is better for representing a book items. 2) In koha mapping , tag 952$y representing itype , in this tag is y in capital letter or small letter bcz when i am trying to give 952$y ie, small letter y showing error for script. 3) If I have more than 2 subject added entry and when i assign value 650$a to each.....after importing only one subject added entry is imported.....so what is the problem? Acquisitions - receiving

I am using Koha 3.0. I have begun receiving materials. In the test we had and in the manual I was shown that when the invoice information was entered there would also be a space to add the shipping amount. I have installed Koha 3.0, thanks to Joe Atzberger I do not have any errors showing up anywhere, Apache runs fine. However, the only message I get on the screen now is Failed to connect. I don't even get the "Welcome to Koha" message anymore. :-( No errors show up in any logs. I have no idea what to do now, any ideas, hints or links are welcome. cannot access localhost?

So far I have managed to install all files for Koha 3, but even though I seem to be tantalising close, I haven't gotten farther than the Welcome to Koha screen,and that is quickly replaced by 'internal server error' When I add Listen 80 and Listen 8080 to the koha-httpd.conf file, I progress to a "Failed to connect" screen, and the "(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address [::]:80" line is added to the error.log It is rather unlikely that my password is wrong, but is there somewhere I can test it without goin thru another installation? Therefore, if there are 2 books(i.e. 2 barcodes), it totally creates 3 records for that biblio(2 records with barcode and one record with locartion). Default currency for fines?

Hello, i defined a new fictitious currency for use at my library (since we do not intend to charge any fines, however, i'd still like Koha to calculate fines, so we know who's not returning stuff in time, etc.) How do i set this currency as the default for calculating and reporting all fines (also to the patron when she logins to OPAC)? i was under the impression i'd set this in the issuing rules, but the fine amount text boxes there are prefixed with the $ sign.
