Re: [Koha] Adding Collection Codes

Check under System Preferences>Catalog>Authorized values. If there isn't a category named CCODE, make it. Then when you choose that category, you can add valuesnames, etc. for the codes. Koha 2.2.9 reserve problem
by Scott Owen 22 Jan '09

22 Jan '09

Hi all, I don't know if this is a situation particular to my environment (win32, Koha 2.2.9) or if it's a missing/incorrect parameter ?? A quick google search for "Koha reserve" bring up a few bug issues from '07, but no real info or resolution. The issue: We have users (students) making reserves. Everything seems to work well from the user perspective. Under the Circ menu --> Reserves Pending, all of our reserves are show. As we select the patron name, it seems to be hit or miss as to the "items requested" section showing up in the patron record. If the "items requested" section is not in the patron record.....it makes it rather difficult to remove a title from reserve. Any ideas on this ??? Also....what is the "priority" section for (under reserves pending) ?? Thanks for any input. -Scott Owen

22_to_30 problem: addbiblio.pl: Wide character in null operation
by "Thommy M. Malmström" 22 Jan '09

22 Jan '09

I've been trying to follow the docs at http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=22_to_30 to upgrade from 2.2.9 to 3.0.0 and I get the Koha interface up in the browser. So far so good... Then trying to add a MARC record I see this in the browser: production mode - trapped fatal error and this error in the log file /var/log/koha/koha-error_log [Wed Jan 21 21:52:28 2009] [error] [client 127.0.1.1] [Wed Jan 21 21:52:28 2009] addbiblio.pl: Wide character in null operation at /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8/MARC/Charset/Table.pm line 96., referer: http://127.0.1.1:8080/cgi-bin/koha/cataloguing/addbiblio.pl?biblionumber=0&… Suppose it's some Perl module that is not correct but how do I find out which???

After going into catalog > add new record > z39.50 search and selecting a copy and hitting import, we allways get a Duplicate Entry quesry screen. If we say no - we get two entries in the catlog. One with a copy and one without . What are we doing wrong ? Outstanding fines of $0.00 in Koha 3
by Tim McMahon 21 Jan '09

21 Jan '09

I couldn't check anything out to a patron because of a fine of $0.00. I set preferences to allow fines of up to $0.01 to get around this, but it still warns of a fine of $0.00. Does anyone know what would cause that and how to fix it? -- Tim McMahon West Liberty Public Library

Adding Collection Codes
by kevin smith 21 Jan '09

21 Jan '09

Hello, I have just installed the vmware image of KOHA 3, and things have gone smoothly. I have, however, been unable to find where one adds collection codes. I see where to add Libraries, and Item Types but not collection codes. It seems like this should be obvious, but somehow, I am not seeing it. We are a Horizon Library, and I am just looking at Koha, as at sometime in the not too distant future, we will need to look for a replacement to SirsiDynix's forgotten step child. Thanks, -- Kevin Smith Assistant Director Cass District Library AND The Fiddling Librarian: http://ashkev.weblogs.us

Re: [Koha] OPAC templates question
by Doug Dearden 21 Jan '09

>>> Sharon Moreland <smoreland(a)nekls.org> 1/20/2009 2:50 PM >>> Hi, Let me preface by saying that our local template wizard (Liz) is off today and I'm anxious for an answer...so I thought I'd ask the list. In Koha 3 on the template koha/opac-search.pl, is there an easy way to have the $n and $p of the 245 display on the hit list? This is an issue in both the staff client and the OPAC with graphic novels, such as Naruto. Without the $p or $n showing up in the hit list, a patron or staff member can't easily determine which of the 34 volumes of Naruto they want to request. Is this a change that can be made on our local set of templates or would others in the koha community appreciate seeing the entire 245 on the opac-search and opac-detail screens? Sharon Moreland NEKLS/NExpress shared catalog www.nexpresslibrary.org _______________________________________________ Koha mailing list Koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha Sharon, I think what you are trying to do can be accomplished using the staff client and chaning the values in the 245 n and p subfields "hidden" attribute. See this page in the documentation, and read about the different values that can be used in the "hidden" attribute. https://sites.google.com/a/liblime.com/koha-manual/Home/Table-of-Contents/a…. Make sure you make the changes to the framework that is used to catalog the items in question. Best, Doug

Koha 3 Error When Trying to Access Web Installer
by Fooled One 20 Jan '09

20 Jan '09

Hello List, I have just tried installing the latest version of Koha via git following the instructions from the INSTALL.debian file. I have installed Koha successfully in the past and the only difference this time around is that this is a separate side-by-side install of Koha on the same machine (Debian Etch) as an already existing installation of Koha. My second installation seemed to go smoothly enough until I got to the web installer portion and received this error message instead of the web installer: Koha error The following fatal error has occurred: Can't locate DBI.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/share/kohawarren/lib /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.10.0/i686-linux /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.10.0 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/i686-linux /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0 .) at /usr/share/kohawarren/lib/C4/Context.pm line 84. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/kohawarren/lib/C4/Context.pm line 84. Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/kohawarren/lib/C4/Output.pm line 30. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/kohawarren/lib/C4/Output.pm line 30. Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/kohawarren/intranet/cgi-bin/mainpage.pl line 22. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/kohawarren/intranet/cgi-bin/mainpage.pl line 22. I did do a search before posting to this list and did see someone else had a similar error involving mysql, but I am not sure that this is the same type of problem. Would someone mind leading me in the right direction to fix this? Thanks! (Debian Etch, MySql v. 5.0.32)
