Koha 3.0 Independent branches: off logged in as Superlibrarian Under reports by ItemType in Catalogue I receive 78 various item types for branch JCWC. Advanced search by branch: 0 results for branch:JCWC I created a patron for the branch. Logged in as the patron and still nothing for the JCWC catalog. What am I doing wrong? I've searched under barcode and title to see if there was something missing from a table somewhere. When searching in Staff Client (Koha 3.0) for a title the results screen takes me to the item I'm looking for but it's the MARC view of the item. Is there a way to set things up so that it goes to the Normal view of the item? I've checked in the Global Systems Preferences under OPAC and the Define the Default view of a biblio is set to Normal. This information is sort of what I'm looking for. Here's the difficulty: We are moving to Koha 3.0 and don't want to lose the Virtual shelves in 2.2.9. There are 3 tables in 2.2.9 for patron info. We are trying to find how this information is moved into Koha 3.0. Also, there is a column/row for marcxml, how is this populated? Thanx. I've been off the mailing list for a little while, and just heard about this little discussion. I'd like to throw the PC reservations system I wrote, Powerline ( http://code.google.com/p/powerline/) into the mix. It has most of the administration capabilities Greg mentioned and basic integration with Koha, and has been running at our library on a Linux server since last August. We originally developed it because we were unsatisfied with Pre-book, the first one we tried (due to a clumsy reservation process and confusing administration interface). While we currently use the Pre-book Windows client on the individual patron computers, I have been working on a Linux client (which should be trivial to port to Windows), and it should be available in rough beta by Valentine's Day. Any help with development on it would be much appreciated, of course! -- Jesse Weaver

I think this may be becuase I just can't seem to install this 'Net::Z3950::ZOOM' which seems to be the only think not installing. The libicu36 one seemed to install fine (although cannot be found in the synaptic package manager. libicu38 is installed however). The libgnutls13 however did not. (Error: dependency is not satifiable: libopencdk10). What on earth am I to do? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. There are some things that need to be installed by hand. Specifically it says "Install libssl0.9.7 ( Needed For Yaz ). Hardy has libssl0.9.8, but yaz wont install with that one. We need to download the older version and install it by hand. (2.1mb)." If that doesn't do it, review the steps in this document and see if there is anything you missed. Koha for consortiums

Hello, I am exploring Koha in a consortium setting, and would really appreciate any information on that topic. I have looked around, but I will admit that I have not found any recent information on the best design, given a single database/installation of koha. How, for instance, are sublocations (such as collections) defined if the koha installation is set to keep libraries separate? Is there any place where the conversation on this topic is gathered, or a project where the configuration decisions have been shared? I have looked at the vokal wiki, for instance, but that seems mostly about interface design at this stage. Thanks, Steve

Set default reserve location?

Hi all, The issue is: We are a public school, and some of our younger users seem to forget to select a location when reserving an item, this seems to cause problems under the Circulation->Reserves Pending menu in the librarian interface. If I select the reserves pending screen, it shows the users and their reserves. However, if I click on (some) users, it does not show that user as having any "Items requested". I believe this inconsistency is due to the user not selecting a branch during the actual reserve request. Is there a way to set the default location for the reserves or a better way to handle reserves? ie: when a user selects a reserve they are given a "Please select the branch from which you want to collect the item:" choice with a drop down menu of locations. Is there a way to hard code (or set a default) location here, or require that the user make a valid selection? I am using Koha 2.2.9 on win32. Thanks for any advice. -Scott Owen Alma Public Schools
