migrating .mrc records

Hello, I have installed Koha 3.00 on SUSE 10.3. I used the "staged records for import" tool and imported approximately 7,000 records (mainly Video Cassettes) on the web interface tools section. Then I clicked on the "import records" button to import the records. When I type in a keyword under the search tool, I get the following results. (below my questions) Is this typical response? Shouldn't I see the titles? Did I miss a step when importing the records? The records came from another library system called Media Minder that lived on Win2000, but no longer in business. I have access to a .txt file and excel file, but thought the .mrc would be the best for importing. I used the nonZebra program when installing Koha. Is there more information that I need to give you to help me with this? I am fairly new linux and mysql. I do have some background with the Follett library software. marking orders as cancelled

Hello, Is there a way in Koha to mark an order as cancelled? This way the order would still be in the system, but it would not show up as an outstanding order with committed funds. I've only used Sirsi, so I don't know if this is handled differently in other systems. What do others do if you end up cancelling an order? Thanks. Non-searchable database

We've upgraded our Koha system from Koha 2.2.9 to Koha 3.0. The problem that we have now is that the new database in Koha 3.0 is not searchable. The records seem to be there, but the search returns absolutely nothing. We have not enabled the Zebra in the system. I'm trying to upgrade from 2.2.7 to 3.0, and the biblio and biblioitem numbers change. I also need to clean up my database because the first install didn't go too well. Transfering data from Koha 2.2.9 to Koha 3.00.00

After some playing with databases I have Koha 3 up and running. Hurray! And thanks to Owen Leonard and Mason James! It all sems to work fine, entered some patrons and books manually to test, even the z39.50 search works wonderful. However, i would have liked the next step to be easier, I get error upon error trying to import any data from Koha 2.2.9. Having started at I think Koha 2.2.7, all updates were rather seamless. Apparently it is not as straightforward with a new release... Is there any place with examples on how to get data from a previous version into Koha 3? I did a few searches, but most of them, if not all, seem to be concerned mainly with the installation of Koha 3. At the moment I cannot even get the patrons loaded from a CSV file, never mind the biblios, and even if we are a small library 6000 items and 800 patrons is a bit too much to do by hand... My concept of "Koha workshops and seminars" page is, 1. a separate page for event listing, 2. a direct link from home page to "Workshops and seminars", 2. an online form to collect event details from organizers, 3. Fields can be Country, Location, Organizer name, Event Date, Contact Name, Web link Many people searching for workshops and related events to learn and know more about Koha. Zebra indexing problem?

We have a Koha v3.0.1 system set up by a 3rd party for us. We are having a lot of problems trying to locate books in the system. At this point we appear to have been left on our own by the 3rd party to figure out the causes and fix them. (No communication from them in over two weeks despite our attempts to contact them for help.) I'll provide a typical example of the biggest problem we are having: Title: Can buildings speak? ISBN: 9781842345238 Barcode: 30108000050931 Biblio info shows typical info on the book and the "Item(s)" tab shows a single copy with correct barcode. If we search the catalog (http://koha.dce.k12.wi.us/ ) for the title or partial title there are no matches. The same thing if we search on ISBN. If we go into circulation and try to "check out" the barcode, it finds the book. I can click on either the title or the barcode # and get information about the book. If we go into cataloging and search on either barcode or title it returns "No results found" and below that says "Biblios in reservoir" followed by the information about the book and an "Add biblio" link. If I run: rebuild_zebra.pl -z -b -a It completes within a few seconds without errors, however, nothing changes for search results. Any recommendations of what I can/should check or what to do next? Hi, Can someone please help me as I don't feel like reloading and re-doing 6000 items. Using Koha 2.2.8-W32-R0. Running on Windows XP Professional. 1. I can't edit any bilio's in Koha as they are all blank (not visible in Opac either), although the book info is there (if selecting "normal" you can see the detail). How can I fix this problem? 2. How can I access the database in MYSQL, would it automatically have saved to Mysql. If not how do I set it up to be able to do both a manual and auto back-up. I have originally used the Marc-maker it import my data. i have a doubt and i am not sure how can i resolve. at the moment to do the research , the program makes a diference between the accent and i don´t want to do that. With this i want to explain that if we find the word "jose", it has to apeared both of them jose and josé. do you know how i can do it? i don´t have the zebra in my computer
