Koha for consortiums

Hello, I am exploring Koha in a consortium setting, and would really appreciate any information on that topic. I have looked around, but I will admit that I have not found any recent information on the best design, given a single database/installation of koha. How, for instance, are sublocations (such as collections) defined if the koha installation is set to keep libraries separate? Is there any place where the conversation on this topic is gathered, or a project where the configuration decisions have been shared? I have looked at the vokal wiki, for instance, but that seems mostly about interface design at this stage. Thanks, Steve

Set default reserve location?

Hi all, The issue is: We are a public school, and some of our younger users seem to forget to select a location when reserving an item, this seems to cause problems under the Circulation->Reserves Pending menu in the librarian interface. If I select the reserves pending screen, it shows the users and their reserves. However, if I click on (some) users, it does not show that user as having any "Items requested". I believe this inconsistency is due to the user not selecting a branch during the actual reserve request. Is there a way to set the default location for the reserves or a better way to handle reserves? ie: when a user selects a reserve they are given a "Please select the branch from which you want to collect the item:" choice with a drop down menu of locations. Is there a way to hard code (or set a default) location here, or require that the user make a valid selection? I am using Koha 2.2.9 on win32. Thanks for any advice. -Scott Owen Alma Public Schools

re set database to allow web installer to be rerun

I have just finished installing 3.0.0 on Ubuntu 8.04.2, thanks to the tute at www.blazingmoon.org. At one screen in the web installer I was offered the chance to install some sample data. I didn't take it up. Now I would like to run the web installer again. Is it sufficient to drop the database so that it will start from the beginning? Postgres 8.2 Support for koha.

Hai All, I am trying koha 3.0 on ubuntu 8.04 with postgres 8.2. For installation, i refered http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=koha_3_install_guide_ubuntu_hardy which is very useful. During Installation, database didn't create by the installation script. So i created it manually. And find some tables are missing in the postgres database script. i refered the table structure for mysql and created. Installation moved smoothly. and i logged into the koha library. I tried to create a patron and catalogue, set a library. These modules give me error production mode - trapped fatal error. Anyone please tell me whether postgres support is there for koha? modify a budget

Hello, So far the answers to all my questions have been "no," but I'll keep trying! Thanks for the responses. Here's my latest question: Is there any way to modify a budget? I can get to the fund and add a budget, but I can't see a way to edit the current budget (i.e., put more money in or decrease it). Thanks! importing issues table

Thanks all, slowly I am getting Koha 3 to work. I have the patrons loaded and the biblios in. Of course I got stuck somewhere else, nothing is ever easy around here... So how do I get the issues loaded? At the moment nobody has anything out, which is not actually the case. foreign key constraint fails when importing csv

Me again. Trying to get borrowers from old koha to koah 3 I get this error message; mysql> LOAD DATA INFILE "/home/marty/patronz.csv" INTO TABLE borrowers FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' ENCLOSED BY ""; ERROR 1452 (23000): Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails (`koha/borrowers`, CONSTRAINT `borrowers_ibfk_1` FOREIGN KEY (`categorycode`) REFERENCES `categories` (`categorycode`)) Not sure about this foreign key constraint, did I fail to set some value in Koha?
