Newbie problem: Can't establish connection to OPAC

HI, I finished installing koha last night and I can login to the admin (8080) section just fine, but when I try to connect to the public side on port 80 I get a browser error saying it can't establish a connection to the server. Any thoughts on this? I hope there is an easy solution; the installation was enough of an adventure. TIA. A plugin for searching a value in other biblios?

Hi all, has anyone programmed a plugin which would search - during the cataloguing - values of a field in other biblios? For example, if I want to insert a Series Title (MARC21 440), the plugin would search series titles inserted in other biblios. Thank you Ondrej Mlecka Rome

Need help on Koha

Circulation and fine Rules problem

Dear Koha users, I just upgraded from 3.01 to 3.02. After upgrading I found a new field “Fine Days” in Circulation and fine Rules section. Whats the purpose of this field? Another problem is that, not able to save a new fine rule. It does not save the new fine rule when clicking on Add button after entering values in all fields. creating a new subscription for a journal with continuous numbering

Hello, I am setting up serials subscriptions in Koha and have a question about creating the prediction pattern for a particular title. The Journal of the American Statistical Association comes out quarterly and the volume changes every year. However, the numbering is continuous. The copy I have in hand is Volume 104, Number 486. receiving multi copies

Greetings colleagues, is it possible to receive more than one copy at a time in acquisitions? Using the demo site, I've created orders for multiple copies but when they are to be received, it seems they can be received one at a time; the "quantity received" box is grayed out and the number cannot be changed. One of our library operations regularly orders multiple copies, sometime as many as 120 copies. It'd be fantastic to use the budgeting abilities of Koha Acquisitions for this library operation and I know its management would love a less cumbersome way of tracking its budget. Is there something that can be changed so that multiple copies can be received in acquisitions? cards and labels for patrons and books

Hello all, it's been an interesting few weeks implementing the Koha system for the libraries here. its now testing-live at http://library.janathakshan.net feel free to poke round and let me know what you think. there are a whole whopping 20 books entered so far. right now i am in the process of making patron cards and book cards since i am an IT guy and not a library guy, i would like to ask your opinion on what i should use as the barcode number for the books. currently i am thinking of just using the catalog number since that is what they currently use. but the current use of the library is in the "write patron's name in a big book and mark when returns it" i am looking at setting up something more robust and usable and scalable i would also like to know how to modify the patron card layout so it showshome library, patron name, membership type, number and then the barcode. i have tried modifying the layouts, but they all seem to do the same thing i am on koha3.0.1 does anyone have any ideas/pointers for me?
