Open Source ILS Add-ons
by Lori Ayre 07 Oct '09

I am preparing for a one hour webinar on Open Source ILS Add-on products. By "ILS Add-on," I mean products that extend the functionality of the ILS and wish seem to fall into three main categories: discovery interface, and metasearch. If you are using, have used or have knowledge of any of the following products, I'd be much obliged if you'd tell me a bit about your experience. Like it? Love it? Using it? Know it is dead? Know something better? You know it works with Koha/Evergreen/anything else? Thanks in advance! If the 6 was upsided down it would be better :). Of course this is the problem with trying to get people together from all of the world. It is always 6am somewhere. database and library program in English and Greece?
by Thea Montandon 07 Oct '09

07 Oct '09

Dear Koha Friends, Koha may be the answer to our need for an online database for a small community public library on Skopelos Island in Greece. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, but travel to the Island often and have been helping a group of local visionaries create local public libraries in Greece. I will return with more books and computers in December to begin to catalogue the collection in the Glossa/Skopelos Public Library, and to create a searchable database and online library access, as well as setup free internet acess on site. The programs we create must be available in both English and Greek, and it looks like this site will make that possible. We are excited to find something to fit our needs ... and being free makes all our volunteer hours worthwhile! Thank you. If there is anything we might need to know before we get started with this project, or someone we can contact directly as we go along, we will very much appreciate it and will shout you an ouzo when you join us on the Island! opac customization
by Erik Lewis 06 Oct '09

Hope everyone had a good holiday. Got a question concerning the catalog search on the OPAC. I'd like to drop the word 'Search' from the beginning of the well and change 'Go" to Search. I'm sure it's pretty obvious but I haven't figured where that is being pulled from.

Koha and pazpar2
by Mark Osborne 06 Oct '09

06 Oct '09

This might have been covered before but how do people see koha working with open source federated search tools like pazpar2? The advanced search feature in koha is good but it.s not a true federated search. I.d like a koha search to return results from our web-based video library.

Re: [Koha] US Koha Conference NOT KOHACON NZ
by Jim Minges 06 Oct '09

Sorry, but whether there is a US Koha conference or not, there is zero chance of our organization, and I suspect any other Kansas Koha users, going to KohaCon NZ. Too bad but that's just the way it is. Marc records not appearing in catalog.
by Prasada Sajja 06 Oct '09

06 Oct '09

We have successfully imported MARC records from Winnebago Spectrum to Koha. But, a lot of imported records in Koha reservoir do not appear in the Koha catalog. They are in the reservoir, but we can't get them into the catalog. The information I have gleaned from Koha blogs suggests that this is an issue with Zebra indexing. Can anyone help?
