South Taranaki District Libraries up and running

Hi everyone, STDC Libraries went live on Koha this morning after a six week implementation process. The transfer has been pretty much seamless and staff have taken to the new system like ducks to water. So far across our seven branches we have issued items, done 307 renewals, and handled 1870 returns. I would like to thank Catalyst NZ for their expertise in transferring our records and undertaking staff training. Access 2011: call for submissions extended to March 31

Creating a report for serials

Hello all We have had our serials module live for about 6 months now so I thought it was about time I looked at the Claims - however, it does not tell me which library each subscription is for so it is difficult for me to know which missed/late serials to direct to which library. Could someone perhaps provide me with the SQL to run a report which will give me the information which Claims gives me but also with the added information of Library (Claims currently gives me Supplier, Title, Issue Number, Status, and Since). I normally try and tweak one of the reports in the SQL Reports Library but I cannot find any for the Serials module. Thanks in advance. check in date incorrect

When we check in a book and then go to the checkout history of that book, the check in date is always one day prior to the correct date. Ex - If I check in a book today (3-15 here), the history will show checkin on 3-14. How can I change that? Thanks, Shelley

KUDOScon Registration Available

The registration form for the KUDOScon2011 conference is available. This will be a no registration fee conference, held in Madison, WI on May 2 and 3, 2011. We are asking that people register for the conference as we are limited in attendance. Consortia, what's the best way to set them up?

Now that we've got our system up and running, we want to reach out to other small libraries with similar collections. Our idea is to build up a little online consortium based in Koha, with us providing filespace and managing the system. We would like the OPAC user to be able to search all libraries at once, or choose a specific library (or perhaps more than one, but not all). What is the best way to set these up? The libraries themselves would also have to be independent as far as patrons, loans, and other policies. I'd love to hear from other library consortia out there who could offer some pointers. Corrupted PDF on Batch Export

On Koha 3.03.00.004 using the label creator I have create batches in the past that downloaded as PDFs fine. However the librarian recently added about 100 books to the system manually and in trying to print the labels for a new batch containing those books the PDF file that is downloaded in not valid. I get a message from my reader that the file is damaged. I have created other batches that download fine so it appears there is something in that batch which is causing the problem. Any ideas on where to look? I can download that batch as a CSV. Thanks, Shawn

RFC: control character in a MARC record?

I've been helping someone debug a problem saving records from the reservoir to their catalogue and it seems that one of their sources has subtle errors in their data. The source record contains some control characters. One of the MARC:: modules reacts badly to that and crashes Koha. Is there ever a reason to include a non-printing control character in a MARC record and could/should Koha filter them all out?
