I don't recall what the version of Koha installed was, and I'm having trouble finding where I can find out what version it is. The upgrade to a later version of the mysql server could be causing the "You have an error in your SQL syntax" problem? It could also be that perl packages were unintentionally removed during the upgrade, or modules originally checked out of CPAN may no longer be working? As a general approach, if I upgrade Koha now to the latest version, would this be a good first step? Cheers, Alex

Messy overdue notices
by Dianna Roberts 23 May '11

I've had several attempts at getting my list of overdue items to go on separate lines but they still all run together in one block of text. My SQL statement is: <<borrowers.firstname>> <<borrowers.surname>> <<borrowers.email>>, According to our records the following are now due for return: <item> <<biblio.title>> / <<biblio.author>>. <<items.enumchron>>. Barcode: <<items.barcode>> </item> What am I doing wrong? circulation notices
by Caitlin McGurk 19 May '11

19 May '11

Hello Koha- I'm having some major problems trying to get circulation notices emailed out to patrons. As far as I can tell, all of my settings are correct, and I even had a programmer come in and take a look. The day he was here, he set something and the system mailed out notices. None have been mailed out since, though. Any ideas? Our administration is reviewing the success of this new ILS tomorrow... please help! MARC view in OPAC won't switch off
by Elaine Bradtke 19 May '11

19 May '11

Our corporate stylesheet mangles the MARC view in the OPAC. Fixing this problem is way down on the priority list (and not in the budget), and most OPAC users don't use this feature. So I decided to turn off the MARC view in the OPAC Under System Preferences, Local Use OPACvieMARC there's an option allow or disallow the display of MARC view of bibiographic records in OPAC. I set it to off, and saved it, but it still displays. Is there something else I need to change? We're running 3.02.06.000 - and will probably upgrade to 3.4 in the next couple weeks. If this works in the newer version, I won't fret about it. -- Elaine Bradtke Data Wrangler VWML English Folk Dance and Song Society | http://www.efdss.org Cecil Sharp House, 2 Regent's Park Road, London NW1 7AY Tel +44 (0) 20 7485 2206 ext 36 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Registered Company No. 297142 Charity Registered in England and Wales No. 305999 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture" --Elvis Costello (Musician magazine No. 60 (October 1983), p. 52)

Titles that we only have 1 copy/item of that have the status of being a trapped hold (waiting), show as "no holds allowed" when you search for them in a general way that produces a list of records (as opposed to searching for it by barcode). So, if the item "Uncoupling" by Meg Wolitzer (which we only own one copy of) is trapped & waiting to be picked up, if we do a search in either the staff client or the OPAC for "Wolitzer" -- a list of her books comes up and each one has the link below it to place a hold except for the one that is trapped (Uncoupling) and that one says "no holds allowed". You can place a hold on it in other ways (through checking the box and then clicking place hold, or in staff client by bringing up the item and placing a hold directly). So, we can get around it, but it is unlikely that most of our patrons using the OPAC will go any farther than seeing "no holds allowed." Has anyone else dealt with this?
