Ordering from 'next' budget
by Joann Ransom 01 Jun '11

01 Jun '11

Hi all, Horowhenua Library Trust are running 3.2 and uses the acquisitions module in to mange annual budgets, funds, orders and receiving of stock. We place orders against the 'current' active budget (eg 2010/2011 with start/end dates 01/07/2010 - 30/06/2011). We are currently ordering stock which needs to come out of the 'next' active budget ie 2011/2012 with start/end dates 01/07/2011-30/06/2012). My problem is that some titles being ordered now need to be recorded against the 'next' active budget ie 2011/2012 not the current one. So my question is how do other libraries manage that? Cheers Jo. -- Joann Ransom RLIANZA Head of Libraries, Horowhenua Library Trust.

Seeking basic intro on cron-jobs
by Lesley Kimball 01 Jun '11

01 Jun '11

Hi everyone, We're still learning all the ins and outs of running koha in our small public library. I need to set up cron-jobs for our overdue notices and I've never done that before. So far, the info I've found is just the scripts for different jobs and references to having your admin make the changes on your server. Our Koha is hosted by ByWater Solutions. Can anyone point me to a very basic resource for getting these jobs set up (like where to enter the scripts, etc.). Is it something I do on our network server? Or is it on our remote server for Koha? Thanks for any assistance! Lesley Kimball ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You see, I don't believe that libraries should be drab places where people sit in silence, and that's been the main reason for our policy of employing wild animals as librarians. -- Monty Python, "Gorilla Librarian" sketch ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lesley Kimball Director Wiggin Memorial Library Stratham, NH <mailto:Director@WigginML.org> Director(a)WigginML.org

Re: [Koha] Customisation in Staff Clinet Interface of Koha (Owen Leonard)

Regarding the staff interface of the koha > a. can we do merging two different modules into single module? As far as I can tell the only way to do this would be to edit the template files (*.tt). This is easily done but difficult to maintain across Koha upgrades. If you choose this option I recommend doing it as part of a dev install of Koha from a git repo. Keep your customizations in a separate git branch. > b. can we have customized icon instead of text based hyperlink? This sounds like something you could do with CSS if the link in question can be properly targeted. It's something you'll have to research for yourself since it's not something built into Koha already. > Subject: Koha Digest, Vol 67, Issue 81 In the future please do not quote the entire digest in your reply. Koha problem with linked 110 author searches only using subfield a
by Linda Culberson 01 Jun '11

01 Jun '11

All, After running a basic search, when we click on an author that is in an 110 field the result only uses the subfield a when we need it to use the subfield b also. This is a problem when searching for state agencies. Thanks -- Linda Culberson lculber(a)mdah.state.ms.us Archives and Records Services Division Ms. Dept. of Archives & History P. O. elementSetName for Z39.50 servers
by Stefano Bargioni 01 Jun '11

01 Jun '11

The main Italian catalog SBN can be accessed using opac.sbn.it:3950/nopac Its defaults are format sutrs and elementSetName B. However elementSetName B returns very simple records. Koha (3.2.7) allows to change the format. Can I change the elementSetName to F? Thanks. Stefano
