Okay. I'd like to ask several questions here. 1. Which version of drupal does it rely on ? 2. I have to say I did not understand what locum and insurge are. Any clue for me ? > We tried to contribute the patches we wrote in order to fix some bugs. > But it is free software, ppl may or may not take on your contributions > and proposals. Indeed. Does it mean that there are currently no exchanges with sopac maintainers ? > It is in production for some libraries. We can assist in the realization > of that or provide you with url for that. I'm interested in any URL. I'm trying to build yet another digital library. Now that I know about Koha and how good it is for cataloging and exploring an OPAC, I have to say it is difficult for me to renounce to powerful cataloguing/opac features. My first idea was ths a three component solution: Drupal for the protal, Koha for the OPAC and a third component yet to be chosen to handle files pertaining to each book. Such an approach has, however, several pitfalls: it is heavy and there is a problem if one wants to share authenticaiton. So I thought that SOPAC could help: the (Koha) OPAC and Drupal would merge, and then I could use Drupal to store and give access to the files associated with each book. Any comment here would be warmly appreciated. > We are still convinced that drupal is really a nice thing and the fact > that solr could be also used in drupal could make it really handy. Yeah I'd love to be able to use drupal for my digital library, find it rather convenient, too. > Maybe you could also take a look at mkdrul from indexdata and find > something interesting. Is such a module interesting even when you'd query only one Z39.50 server ? In my case, I think I'd query only my local Koha where everything would be catalogued. And would such an approach let one see from within drupal the virtual shelves defined in Koha. And finally: the fact that it seems to rely heavily on javascript makes me think it would perhaps not be very accessible, but I didn't try it out... > Hope that helps. Hi, I downloaded koha-3.04.03 from http://koha-community.org/. Then I installed the same in /opt directory in Ubuntu and followed the instructions in INSTALL file. Then after following all instructions, I opened the web browser http://servername:8080 But it kept on giving me the error in loading the modules are not installed 1. Carp-Clan 2. List-MoreUtils 3. Template-Toolkit I am using perl 5.10.1 Doesn't Ubuntu come with all the above libraries in perl 5.10.1 ? Or do I need to install the perl libraries again. I have been looking for a way to limit the space the title prints to one line on my barcode labels. Is this possible? I have a library that said they did this, but don't remember how ... Nicole

HELP NEEDED: Unable to add duplicate records (copy 2s) to Koha
by Hartman, David W. - GBTS Library 13 Aug '11

13 Aug '11

The top record is one I am trying to add and the bottom one already exists in Koha. The ISBNs are identical but when I stage them it says they are “no_match”. There must be something in the copy 1 record that is discouraging a match but I cannot see it. Let me know when you can. ALL of the records I am adding are copy 2s and this is happening to all of them “no_match”. =LDR 00000nam a2200000Ia 45e0 =008 00049764 =020 \\$a671506196 =082 \\$a158.1 C28 =100 \\$aCarnegie, Dale =245 \\$aHow to stop worrying and start living =245 \\$cDale Carnegie =260 \\$aNY =260 \\$c1984 =490 \\$v1 =650 \\$a1. Migration from 2.2.5 to 3.4
by Peter Thompson 12 Aug '11

12 Aug '11

Hi, Hi, I'm a complete newcomer to the world of Koha. We have an installation of Koha 2.2.5 at a remote site, and we wish to migrate the data to a new server running 3.4. Simply importing the MySQL dump file doesn't seem to do the trick - I get the borrowers but not the bibs etc. I've searched the archives, but most information about in-situ upgrades. Anyone point me in the right direction doco-wise? Peter Thompson Information Technology & Communications Unit Bendigo TAFE
