Re: [Koha] Primary & secondary email addresses

There is a system preferenece, AutoEmailPrimaryAddress, that determines which email is used to send notices. One of the options, "first valid", checks the emails in the order: primary, secondary, alternate. The first field that is populated with a valid email address (on a per-user basis) is used to send the notices. I recommend you verify that setting first, then proceed from there. bulkimport.pl
by Andrews, Mark J. 06 Dec '11

06 Dec '11

Hi, all, Where can I find a tutorial on how bulkimport.pl works? I have a particular interest in how items are imported along with their parent bib records. The source system is SirsiDynix Symphony 3.4.0 (non-Unicode, in other words MARC-8). The target system is a VM created by Kyle Hall (we've not met, but thanks bro!) - Koha 3.06.00.002 under Debian 5. I'm running the VM under VMWare for Windows w/512 MB of RAM. Thanks! Mark Andrews, Creighton University

Dear All, I am also facing the same problem for email notices. Notices are only received by member who has given the primary email id for Koha 3.04 My problem is that, email are not send to all the patron who's email id is given in the primary section, email is going to only ONE patron. Eventhough primary email id are given in some accounts. Secondly majority of the email id is given in the secondary email ID section and koha is not picking the secondary email id for sending the reminder. Can anybody have a solution/suggestion. Improving permissions on lists (virtual shelves)
by Marcel de Rooy 05 Dec '11

05 Dec '11

Hi all, Still hoping to get some feedback on this subject, I would now propose the following. Please respond to the list, if you agree or disagree. 1 Do not allow to create a public list in the OPAC. (Only private lists.) Public lists are only created by staff users in the staff client. 2 Add three permission options to any list: a) Allow adding entries b) Allow deleting your own entries (that you added) and c) Allow deleting entries that someone else added. This makes the distinction between public list and open list no longer needed and adds some refinement in lists management. Only the owner of the list can change these permissions. 3 Add a new (opac) feature to private lists: Share a list (with another patron). Let the user share access to a list by Koha sending an email with a URL including some (temporary) invitation key. When the invited patron clicks that URL (when logged in) he gains access (in accordance with the described permission options for that specific list). The invited patron can always 'delete' the shared list, i.e. delete the share. The owner can 'unshare' the list and remove all shares for that list. 4 With respect to user privacy, a feature may be added in staff client to moderate shared list names. 5 Possibly, libraries do not want patrons sharing lists. So the option could be disabled with a preference. In that case points 2 and 3 still apply. Note that the shared private list concept makes report 7281 (Hiding some lists) obsolete. Bug 7310 will be used for this feature. Your comments are very welcome! Marcel
