Hi, Cecil: some months ago I wrote something similar: this was my experience during migration from non-Koha to Koha 3.2. In Koha, manually add some auth records, at least one for each type of auth you are going to import. Look at created records in table auth_header. Use each auth_header.marcxml as a model for a (perl) script to tail marcxml records with your data. A model for PERSO_NAME (replace *...* with your data) could be: <record> <leader>00000nz a2200133n 4500</leader> <controlfield tag="003">*YOUR LIBRARY CODE*</controlfield> <controlfield tag="005">*CURRENT TIMESTAMP like 20101125120000.0*</controlfield> <controlfield tag="008">*YYMMDD*n||a|nnnaabn || aad |d</controlfield> <datafield tag="040" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">*YOUR LIBRARY CODE*</subfield> <subfield code="b">*YOUR LIBRARY LANGUAGE CODE*</subfield> <subfield code="c">*YOUR LIBRARY CODE*</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="100" ind1="0" ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">*SURNAME, NAME*</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="400" ind1="0" ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">*USED FOR/SEE FROM*</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="942" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">PERSO_NAME</subfield> </datafield> </record> At begin of file insert: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <collection xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.loc.gov/MARC21/slim http://www.loc.gov/standards/marcxml/schema/MARC21slim.xsd" xmlns="http://www.loc.gov/MARC21/slim"> and append at end of file </collection> Then import the created xml file using bulkmarcimport.pl -a -m marcxml -file your_authorities.xml and link them to your biblios with link_bibs_to_authorities.pl HTH. Re: [Koha] OPAC MARC View display not working well
by Ian Bays 03 Feb '12

Yes. Even exporting the odd record from the 3.6.1 and importing to the 3.6.2, the display on the 3.6.2 does not fail. I thought we might have broken the xsl stylesheet, but turning that off still loses those tags (020, 099, 245, 300, 650). Will report what we find - however embarrassing... Someone may be marking them lost that would return them off the persons card. There isn't a charge for replacement price on their account? An sql statement to retrieve items checked in on that day does not include the item and the catalog record of the book indicate that the book is lost. What could be the issue? Loading Authority records
by Hillyard, Cecil 03 Feb '12

I believe someone asked about this not too long ago but I don't recall seeing any answer. I can get authority records from our bibliographic vendor but how do you get them into Koha? __________________________ Cecil Hillyard Cataloger Washoe County Library Technical Services Reno, NV 89505 www.washoecountylibrary.us

Searching by 'object' numbers
by Hillyard, Cecil 03 Feb '12

When viewing the cataloging log the items or bibs are designated by an object number. How do you search the catalog by these numbers? There isn't anything in advanced search. Thank you, __________________________ Cecil Hillyard Cataloger Washoe County Library Technical Services Reno, NV 89505 www.washoecountylibrary.us

Koha - call number indexing
by Linda Culberson 02 Feb '12

02 Feb '12

All, Can someone explain to me where the call number indexes are pulling from? We have our local call numbers pulling from the 092 and I thought that was the field being indexed, but it seems to be the items.itemscallnumber Is that correct? For some reason, not all of our records are pulling up by call number and I'm trying to figure out why. Thanks in advance for your help. -- Linda Culberson lculber(a)mdah.state.ms.us Archives and Records Services Division Ms. Dept. of Archives & History P. O. Dear Hugo and Mason, I successfully imported the same MARC file in previous versions. The MARC view problem with 3.6.2 and 3.6.3 version. Other OPAC views are good. Nothing wrong happened during importing records. Problem with MARC View only. Where I can find bibitems marcxml field ? Regards, -- Vimal Kumar V. Re: [Koha] Which directory is Koha database on Ubuntu?

mysqldump should "just know" where to find the database. But as you asked it should be in /var/lib/mysql/XXXXXXX where XXXXXXX is the name you gave it during install.
