Many thanks to all. The browser cache flushing is no problem. All our machines are set up with zero cache, so a simple <shift><reload> works wonders. And of course Apache is the primary player on the server. What I was looking for was a simple way to simulate all the operations that affect Koha on reboot: so includes the "servers" for zebra, mysql, memcached and apache (maybe more?) I suppose that writing a script would be the way to go, but haven't tried it yet, just hoping that perhaps someone else had already done it ... Best - Paul

Patron import as command line
by Tom Hanstra 06 Feb '12

Is there any documentation available on how I might run a patron import as a command line instead of interactively loading the data via Koha tools? batch updates of bibliographic records using MarcEdit
by Linda Culberson 06 Feb '12

06 Feb '12

All, I was looking at Nicole's excellent tutorial at http://networkedblogs.com/sSegb on using MarcEdit to Add Koha Items, and I was wondering if it might be possible to select a group of records that had errors, use MarcEdit to correct those errors, and load them back using the Marc Import matching on the 001 or the 999c or some other field? Has anyone done something like this or is there another way? Thanks! -- Linda Culberson lculber(a)mdah.state.ms.us Archives and Records Services Division Ms. Dept. of Archives & History P. O. There is of course a scroll bar (I mentioned "resizing" only to say that the box dimensions were not statically fixed.) But until I added the British and French national libraries (about 17% and 11% of our holdings by country of publication) there was no need to scroll or resize. It's "no big thing" perhaps; but from my tech point of view it should be simple to fix yet isn't (if there was a simple fix, I'm sure someone would have emailed it) and from an admin point of view efficiency is based on the number of operations required. I first heard about this from a training session - new volunteers saw a marvelously formatted list of eight possible sources with no *apparent* actions to be taken or buttons to click. Again, not a big thing -- it's just for the "beauty of Koha." tnx and br - paul

For the record in 3.6.1 it is at /usr/share/koha/intranet/htdocs/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/modules/cataloguing/addbiblio.tt One question remains from my original query: Is there a quick CLI command to restart Koha without rebooting the server? Anonymous Patron setting
by Tom Hanstra 06 Feb '12

06 Feb '12

I have two instances of Koha 3.6.2 for which I am having problems setting the AnonymousPatron value. When I attempt to make the change, I receive an error saying that: You need to log in again, your session has timed out. even though it obviously has not because I can still navigate within the System Preferences. I've watched the logs when this happens and cannot see anything which suggests what might be going on. Does anyone have ideas on what might be happening and where to look. I have this problem with multiple logins, each of which should have the permissions to make this setting change. Search / index problem, help... ?
by Sonia P. 05 Feb '12

05 Feb '12

Hello We have got a problem with our search engine... It doesn't find the last biblios that we have just added. If I run a report, I can find the biblio. If I try to "check-in" the biblio (using its barcode), I can find it too. We just can't find it using a normal search in the catalog. There seems to be some errors due to rebuild-zebra. The person who receives the logs by email says he receives these errors: error retrieving biblio 9413 at /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl line 473. error retrieving biblio 10570 at /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl line 473. Wide character in subroutine entry at /usr/share/perl5/MARC/Charset/Table.pm line 96.And he indeed receives these errors every five minutes, so I guess that means that rebuild-zebra is really working. The cronjob runs from the cron.d directory (as installed by the package) and that's it: # /etc/cron.d/koha-common # Call koha-rebuild-zebra for each enabled Koha instance, to make sure the # Zebra indexes are up to date. SHELL=/bin/sh PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin */5 * * * * root test -x /usr/sbin/koha-rebuild-zebra && koha-rebuild-zebra $(koha-list --enabled) */15 * * * * root koha-foreach --enabled --email /usr/share/koha/bin/cronjobs/process_message_queue.pl If I run rebuild-zebra as a command line, it doesn't change anything. Do you have any suggestion for us? (I am sorry I don't have the whole picture, because we are two persons working on it: I work more on Koha and I don't know much about the server and all these files, and the other person is working on the server and he doesn't know much about Koha...) Many thanks for your help! Sonia.
