You must be using a very old version of Koha, and you should upgrade Chris

Re: [Koha] To print barch barcodes on Zebra GK 420T
by Dobrica Pavlinušić 13 Feb '12

Zebra printers (IMHO) don't work well when you are printing PDF files on them. Problem on Linux side is cups driver which isn't quote up to task, and Windows driver is GDI one, which means that Windows has to rasterize PDF back into image before sending it to printer (which might explain incorect barcodes, but I'm guessing here). To overcome this, I wrote small converter from bitmap to ZPL and documented our setup using Inkscape template to produce pixel-perfect output on Zebra: http://blog.rot13.org/2012/02/printing-from-koha-to-zebra-printers-on-local… Hope this helps :-) On Mon, Feb 13, 2012 at 12:39, Zeno Tajoli <tajoli(a)cilea.it> wrote: > Hi to all, > > I have to print big batches of barcodes with Zebra GK 420T. > I try to use the pdf files created with Koha's Label Creator Module. > In fact the print isn't correct. > Positions of barcode are not not correct on the first 10 barcode, > correct on 11°-20° barcode, not correct from 21° barcode until the end. > > So I try to work with CSV export of barcode labels. > > Do you have experience with this printer ? > Do you have/develop specific routines to handle barcodes from csv export > with this printer ? > > Cheers > Zeno Tajoli > > -- > Dott. Problem with remove_items_from_biblioitems.pl
by Muhammad Abdullah 13 Feb '12

13 Feb '12

Hello, I'm attempting to upgrade from Koha version 3.2 to version 3.6 by just copying over 3.2 db into a new instance of Koha 3.6. The webinstaller ran just fine in bringing the db up to date, bar some errors about duplicate fields that are already in the tables. However, I received these errors when I ran "remove_items_from_biblioitems.pl" script, which produces the following output: "...................................................... Use of uninitialized value $biblioitem_tag in numeric ne (!=) at /home/koha/kohaclone/C4/Biblio.pm line 3184. Use of uninitialized value $biblio_tag in numeric ne (!=) at /home/koha/kohaclone/C4/Biblio.pm line 3184. Use of uninitialized value $biblio_subfield in string at /home/koha/kohaclone/C4/Biblio.pm line 3216. Tag "" is not a valid tag. at /home/koha/kohaclone/C4/Biblio.pm line 3216" Any help on how to solve this problem so that I can proceed with the upgrade is very appreciated.

Holds queue and patron holds difference
by Przemek Sztuczyński 13 Feb '12

13 Feb '12

Hi! When patron puts item on hold using "Next available copy", after holds queue is rebuild, it shows both barcode and callnumber. However, when I look it up in patron`s reserves(../cgi-bin/koha/circ/circulation.pl?findborrower=...#reserves) , both barcode and callnumber fields are empty. Is there any way to make this table look like the one in Holds Queue? regards -- Przemysław Sztuczyński UKSW http://uksw.edu.pl

To print barch barcodes on Zebra GK 420T
by Zeno Tajoli 13 Feb '12

13 Feb '12

Hi to all, I have to print big batches of barcodes with Zebra GK 420T. I try to use the pdf files created with Koha's Label Creator Module. In fact the print isn't correct. Positions of barcode are not not correct on the first 10 barcode, correct on 11°-20° barcode, not correct from 21° barcode until the end. So I try to work with CSV export of barcode labels. Do you have experience with this printer ? Do you have/develop specific routines to handle barcodes from csv export with this printer ? Cheers Zeno Tajoli -- Dott. Can't delete patron record
by Ann Weitzel 11 Feb '12

11 Feb '12

I am running Koha v3.06.02.003 and have successfully migrated my old database from 3.00.00.107 to this newer Koha instance. I can add new patron records through the Staff Interface as user kohaadmin but when I attempt to delete any patron records (old or new) via the Patron Details -> More button -> Delete, the Delete menu item is grayed out (disabled). Is there something I first need to enable before I can delete patron records or this a bug in Koha? The kohaadmin user in MySQL has full database privileges. Also, how can I upgrade my Koha 3.6.2 to the latest build of 3.6.3 without database loss? Can I simply re-run the Web Installer to do an in-place upgrade or do I have to press the 'Big Red Do-Over' button ;-) Thanks! limit display length of last name? (holdslip)
by Adams, Jason 10 Feb '12

10 Feb '12

Our library branch places hold items (to be picked up) in a public area for patrons to grab and check out for themselves. For privacy reasons, we'd like to limit the info displayed on the hold slips/receipts. Is there a way to limit the length (e.g. first 2 letters) of the "surname" displayed on these receipts AND is there a way to limit the display of units of the "cardnumber" (e.g. the LAST 4 numbers). I'm hoping it's a matter of simple HTML code for displaying pieces (or limited lengths) of database info that I've never needed to know about until now. Many thanks to whomever can provide a solution and/or other alternatives for "privatizing" the hold slips. We're currently typing this code (first 2 of last name and last 4 of card number) into a template that we print via Publisher. It'd be great if we could write/code it into Koha to do for us. Jason Adams, L.A. II Northwest Reno Library I believe this is what we'd like to change (where it says surname and cardnumber) - koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/modules/circ/hold-transfer-slip.tmpl <title>Koha -- Circulation: Transfers</title> </head> <body onload="window.print();"> <div id="holdslip"> <h5>Date: </h5> <h3 class="transferdata"> Transfer to Hold in </h3> <div id="patrondata"> <h3>, </h3> <ul> <li></li> ... ...
