by Raphael Chisanga Muonga 08 Feb '12

Colleagues, I have just spotted that our assistant Librarian had the Patron's profile with Lost Card checked to Yes which was wrong. We have reversed that to No and it is fine now.

Reserve pending priority 0
by april 07 Feb '12

07 Feb '12

System : Koha 2.2.9, on fedora Issue: Under the Circulation > Reserves Pending, the priority will occasionally get set to zero...even when the item is issued and the "cancel reserve" option is selected correctly during the issuing procedure. From that point on, onces the priority has been set to zero, there is no way to delete the reserve from the "reserves pending list". The materials are correctly issued and tracked from that point on, but the "pending reserve request" with a priority of "0" seems to stick, and this list can grow quite large over time. Is there a way to clear these from the list using the standard librarian interface ? please help... thanks

Hello Koha list, I am adding more patrons using the csv import tool to my patron database. If there are duplicates, will Koha give me the option to overwrite or ignore a duplicate record? Thanks for any help and advice.... David W. Hartman Global Business Technology Strategy Library

Problem with "hold-ability" of items on order, not yet received
by McElroy, Maureen 07 Feb '12

07 Feb '12

Dear collective brain, We are new to Koha and are on version 3.6. In our first attempt at entering orders in the acquisitions module, it seems as though the titles we ordered, are viewable but not hold-able. Many of the items we order are very popular titles that are not due to release for months out (6 months to a year) but our patrons want to see we're getting them and want to be able to get onto a hold queue for them. How do we input orders in the acquisitions module that allow holds to be placed on them? Maureen McElroy Manager Technical Services Dept. 2012-02-08 Global bug squashing day #9 - you can help!
by Magnus Enger 07 Feb '12

07 Feb '12

Dear Community, In just 15 minutes, it's that time again (at least in Kiribati): http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/2012-02-08_Global_bug_squashing_day Just as an example of work that needs to be done, there are currently 89 bugs that need signing off - that's too many! And to put things in perspective, on 2012-02-08 it's just 2 months and 2 weeks until 2012-04-22 is upon us! (If you're wondering why that is significant, it's the date dictated by tradition for the next version of Koha - 3.8. (The actual date is of course dictated by Paul P. ;-)) Happy hunting, folks! You can set a memcached server "per site" plus one for perl. See <http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/7451>. I'm fairly certain that it accounts for part of the speed on our new server (even with 8 Gigs of memory and solid state drives), although I haven't done any formal timing with and without it. I'm also testing whether it could be advantageous to use an addition memcached server for zebra, but there's problems with the cronjob that we have set at one minute. There is one slight difficulty that I have not looked into too deeply, and that is that it *may* be difficult to use on an Apache prefork install -- I used worker. On our old server (now my sandbox) using prefork (and Koha 3.2) I was never convinced that it did anything. One day I'll try and experiment - I know that Paul Poulain is also interested in "speeding things up." I can tell you that our volunteers have fallen in love with 3.6.1, in good part because of the speed. Best - Paul
