At this time it can't be use for anything but storing data (that I know of). 008 field not displaying properly during cataloguing

I'm still trying to get to the bottom of this, because I can't replicated it on my end. . . but I thought I'd ask if anyone else has seen this problem. We are running 3.10.6 My colleagues are complaining that when they are editing a record, all the fields in the 008 field pop up box say 'not defined'. I've asked them to send me a screen shot, but they've gone home already. Questions I've asked: What browser are they using? Have they set the type of material correctly? What framework are they using? Do they have any pop up blockers set in their browser? Is there anything else I should check for? I've looked at a couple records that they said had the problem on their end, and they all appear to work as they should. So I'm thinking it's not a Koha problem per se. It works fine for me running Chrome. Users of the 'katipo' checkdigit setting, represent!

Hi, If there are any Koha users who have their checkdigit system preference set to 'katipo', please let me know. It's my understanding the this setting was originally created for specifically for the Horowhenua Library Trust, but that they're no longer using it because of their switch to RFID tags. Another Koha developer is doing some work on the patron barcode generation code, and as it happens, if no library is using the "katipo" checkdigit option, for technical reasons it would be nice to remove the code that supports it. Hi Steve, Sorry for the delay in responding--I pried myself away from my computers for a few days' camping. I'm running 3.12.0 on Xubuntu installed from Koha Live DVD 3.10 and then updated/upgraded. Here's what I ended up doing: Run fix_onloan.pl Create a dummy user account. Check out every book in the collection to the user, then check them back in. Everything should show as available now. Elegant? No. Time-consuming for a huge collection? Yes. (Our collection is around 19,000 items.) The best way to do it? Probably not. The only benefit is that it works. It goes much faster if you can get a list of all the barcodes in the system, then use KOC files to do mass-checkouts. MUCH faster than scanning every barcode. E-mail me if you'd like details, or I can post to the list if anyone thinks it would be useful. I have looked at items.barcode, items.homelibrary, and items.holdinglibrary and all 3 of those fields have correct values in my current database.are there other fields that are required for Koha to know that we actually hold a copy of that item for check-out? I also did notice on the MARC import in Koha that the "MARC21" encoding set was NOT an available choice.only UTF-8 and MARC8 and a couple of others.could this have something to do with it? Are my records not getting imported properly, perhaps? If so, how do I enable MARC21 format in Koha? Any ideas what I might be missing or where else to look? THANKS! multivolumepart?

Hi, I work in a library that catalogs separately each volume of a multivolume book. I'm testing koha for a couple of days and today I tried to catalog a multivolume book. We have an ILS in which we can catalog the multivolume book as a whole without adding items, then we catalog each volume and use the linking bloc 4 (461) from unimarc to link to the set level and add items to each volume. I'm not sure now if this is possible in koha. Am I missing something? I apriciate some tips. Thanks Marius Stoica
