Koha + RFID + automatic book sorting system

Hello Koha Community! I am wondering whether some of you have experience with Koha and RFID or Koha+RFID and automatic book sorting systems? In Oslo, Norway, we are currently planning a new main library stretching across 5 floors with an automated book sorting system as the main logistics "channel" between the floors. The main library is also serving 16 different branches in Oslo, plus all the other libraries in Norway that do ILL from us. We are running a proprietary ILS today, but are considering switching to FOSS. All our books are chipped with RFID and we have self checkout/returns machines, but we do not have a book sorting machine. That is something for the new building. It would be great if someone could share their experiences with Koha and RFID/book sorting systems with us and help us avoid the - I am sure - known traps that are there. Koha instance

I have Koha 3.12 installed in my Debian system (6.0). I used the Debian package. I am now installing another instance but I can't seem to add that instance (thru koha-create --create-db instancename). Whenever I go the second instance, it points me to the first instance. I have already indicated the Domain Name for both and also pointed the instances to corresponding Domain Names in my Domain Name Hosting. Why can't I enable my second instance? It always point to my first instance. Actually I was able to create a second instance, this is going to be my third. Am I missing something? I have just edited Beda's English version here: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_and_old_books#Pros_and_cons It would be really helpful if someone else could look this over. Especially someone familiar with the zebra indexes. I suggested English terms for most (but not all) of the German terms. I was wary of changing some because I don't know enough about the technical side to know if I would break something if I changed DRUK-ORT to PRINT_PLACE for example. This is also why I left the original in place and offered the suggestions below. Thanks again to Beda for the original work. Importing MARC from the Command Line

I have a big file of marc records to import and wanted to know if there is there a way from the command line to overlay records I'm importing based on the isbn match? The docs seem to say if it finds an isbn match then the one I'm importing is ignored. Thanks Nicole

Enable single branch mode in Koha 3.12

Hi All I was going through the Koha Implementation checklist. Under Admin, there is on section that related to " Enable single branch mode (sys pref = singleBranchMode) " which is said to have the implication of " This is only applicable for single location sites and enabling it eliminates the branch selection limits / facets in the OPAC " I am trying to locate where this setting can be made.
