***UNCHECKED*** Question on EnhancedMessagingPreferences
by Hugo Agud 09 May '14

09 May '14

Dear all If we're not wrong the item_due and advance_notice are limited to patrons preference, but both notices are also quite interesting to be defined by the library by default. we wish to ask you If anybody knows a workarround or is working in this kind of feature? We can create the preference in MySQL and configure it for every borrower, but it is not elegant Thanks you in advance! ***UNCHECKED*** Item types whose location close earlier than the main Library
by amutsikiwa＠uzlib.uz.ac.zw 09 May '14

09 May '14

Hi I welcomed the introduction of the hours unit in the circulation and fine rules configuration. I have been using a commercial library system that enables reserve books to be borrowed for internal use for two hours from 09:00 to 15:00 Monday to Thursday, after which they are borrowed for overnight use, which means the books become due the following morning before 09:00. However, the Library closes at midnight. On Friday, reserve books are borrowed for weekend use from 10:00 and become due on Monday. I am now almost through with my migration to Koha. However, I do not know how I can configure my reserve books loan rules so that they behave as explained.. May be the introduction of opening time and closing time for item types so that in the calculation of due dates, as with the calendar tool, will not fall due when that particular item type (for example reserve books) is deemed to be "closed" for circulation, could be the solution going into the future. This could be a future functionality request. However, in the meantime, I will appreciate any pointers on how I can configure the reserve books loan rules so that they behave as explained. ***UNCHECKED*** Display of Suggestion Status Tabs Disappear with Status Change
by Arun Kumar 09 May '14

09 May '14

Hello Lately we have been working on KOHA modules and understand various functions offered in KOHA. we found a problem in Suggestion management of Acquisition Module In the Default View of Suggestion management of Acquisition Module all the Status Tabs like Pending, Accepted, Checked, Ordered, Rejected and their respected Suggestions are displayed The real problem lies here i.e. when we select a suggestion from any of these Status Tabs and change their Status and submit. Once this action is committed only the Tab to which the Status is changed appears and the rest of the tabs Disappear and the URL changes to the following *cgi-bin/koha/suggestion/suggestion.pl#[Previous <http://suggestion.pl/#[Previous> Suggestion Status]* once this* "#[Previous Suggestion Status]"* is removed from the URL it redirects to the Default View of Suggestion Management My Question is that How do we directly redirect to the Default View in Suggestion Management with a changed Suggestion Status With all Tabs not being Disappeared Please Help us. Any pointers will be appreciated Regards ARUNKUMAR National Institute of Oceanography Dona-Paula, Goa, India

What user account to use when re-indexing Zebra
by Joel Ewy 07 May '14

07 May '14

It's unclear to me what user account I'm supposed to be using to rebuild the Zebra index. I have an Ubuntu user called 'koha' that was inherited from 10.04, and when I created a new instance, another user 'bcmckoha14' was created. Am I supposed to be running the Zebra index rebuild as one of those users? I can 'su' to these accounts, but when I try to rebuild the index, it prompts me for a sudo password and then complains that those user accounts are not sudoers (which of course they shouldn't be.) So just how exactly is this supposed to be accomplished? Any insight would be much appreciated. JCE

***UNCHECKED*** To search titles like: What is not Sacred?: African Spirituality
by Zeno Tajoli 07 May '14

07 May '14

Hi to all, in bugzilla i find this query: From ict.admin(a)jhia.ac.ke > Greetings, >I have tried searching 'What is not Sacred?: African Spirituality by Magesa, Laurenti' >and it doesnt appear on the catalog until I searched the same using the authour. > > I have tried the searching 'What is not Sacred African Spirituality' on other libraries catlogs > around and realized that the system only finds the same book once you omit the "not" and search > for "What is Sacred African Spirituality". > > Our library Catlog is http://catalog.jhia.ac.ke/ I also run the search at this other catalogs > > http://library.hekima.ac.ke/ > http://library.jkuat.ac.ke/ > http://41.89.26.5/ > > And they all retured the same burg. the answer is in the default assumed by Koha on search. The default search in Koha is a keyword search and NOT/not is a reserved word in this search. So you need to do a seach by phrase and be explicity on the string. To do so you need to write in the search box: ti,phr="What is not: Sacred African Spirituality" Bye Zeno Tajoli -- Dr. Zeno Tajoli Dipartimento Gestione delle Informazioni e della Conoscenza z.tajoli(a)cineca.it fax +39 02 2135520 CINECA - Sede operativa di Segrate

Problem with 600s fields
by Daniel Sanford 06 May '14

06 May '14

We've recently upgraded to Koha 3.14.05, and we're encountering an issue where the 650, 651, 655, and other fields are automatically inserting a 4 into the second indicator when an authority record is added to the a subfield instead of a 0 for a Library of Congress authority record. We can change it back after it's inserted, but ideally it would insert the right code or nothing at all. Does anyone know of an easy way to fix that?
