MySQL - Strict checking

Are there any recommendations regarding the use of strict checking and Koha? I'm upgrading from 3.06 to 3.14 and as part of that I'm moving to MySQL 5.6, which turns strict checking on by default. A lot of database upgrade errors are coming up related to data values which are in the database but don't pass some of the rule checks implemented. Should I be trying to clean that up? Or might future versions of the upgrade process do some of that for me later? How to repair a table - Koha biblioitems

Whenever I run a backup or try a dump, I get a message that contact with mysql has dropped at a particular record. I've tried deleting the record, but the issue just switches to another record. Apparently the table is corrupted. When I try to repair the table with mysqlcheck I get the message that the storage engine does not support repair. Does anyone know of a way to repair this table? I'm rather desperate as I can't get a full backup with this issue. Thanks for any help. Phillip

Configuring reserve books for overnight borrowing

Hi I have reserve books that are loaned to patrons for 2 hours before 15:00 , thereafter they are borrowed for overnight and becoming due the following morning at 09:00. How can I configure that. Does Koha have the concept of opening and closing time for library? How is Koha's Library day defined? How to fix a corrupted database

I'm running a very old version of Koha 3.0 and have had no problem backing up the database until now. Whenever I try to dump the Koha database, I get an error 2013 - can't connect to mysql server. There is a table and line number that is given showing that the dump of biblioitems dropped at a specific record number i.e 35432. This happens also if I try to run a dump via the command line. This happens every time I try at the same record. Once the 2013 error occurs, no more processing happens including backing up subsequent tables in the Koha database. I've tried to run a repair on this table but the repair apparently is not supported on this engine (mysql). I tried this via mysql and mysqlcheck. Since I have been able to run a query to find out what the record is, I'm hoping that the cataloger will be able to delete this record and reenter it correctly. Hopefully this is the only record in question. My question is: is there any tool to repair the table that will work. I've also tried to modify the my.cnf to lengthen the wait time and write time (since this can also create a 2013 error) but this did not resolve the issue. Thanks for any info or suggestions. I have this report that shows me item with no checkouts in a number of days, but how about showing items with fewer than X checkouts in that same number of days?
