Hello, I have been working on KOHA customization for almost 2 months, Inorder make it Compatible to our Workflow. My question is How to get Active User details Currently managing the Intranet interface, like how it automatically does in Suggestion Management of acquisition module i.e When we change the Suggestion status it picks automatically the current managed user "Managed By" column. This is required to make it agile sending email alerts from the current managed user as it does it using default admin address ie "KohaAdminEmailAddress" stored in System Preference. the modules are little difficult to understand, hence development is delayed. Please Help Us, We have been trying a lot any help will be appreciated Regards Arunkumar National Institute of Oceanography Dona-Paula, Goa, India

My query is of the form @and @attr 1=authtype NP @attr 1=Heading @attr 4=1 @attr 6=3 "Beauvoir Simone de (1908-1986)" and I get "authority not found" My Authorities marc records have Separate First name and last and look like this ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 001 1 106 $a 0 200 1 $a Beauvoir $b Simone de $f (1908-1986) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 001 2 106 $a 2 200 1 $a Beauvoir $b Simone de $f (1908-1986) $x Interviews ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes I am on UNIMARC and dom and have enabled icu indexing, and yes dates have the parentheses inside the marks I noticed changing the @attr 6=1 gives me 2 hits for record "1 and 2", However this not what I want! My question is Is the query above correct ?? Is it Possible to get an the exact hit ??? Thanks in advance! Regards, Harry

Clarification regarding the list of paid support companies
by Galen Charlton 19 Jun '14

19 Jun '14

We have received word that some institutions may be using inclusion on the support provider listing to determine if a provider is allowed to respond to RFPs. While libraries have the prerogative to impose such a requirement, it is important to remind folks that the support company directory exists solely for informational purposes. No endorsement whatsoever is implied. Restricting your choice of provider only to ones included on the list may unfairly exclude support providers and consultants who provide services for mainstream Koha. If you are seeking paid services for Koha, it is ultimately your responsibility to do the research to identify a provider or providers who can meet your needs. Useful criteria for making a selection include: * whether the provider supports mainstream Koha * whether they have a track record of providing good service to their existing customers * whether they are actively involved in the Koha community * whether the price is right for you The support provider listing can provide information on only one of these points – whether the provider expresses support for mainstream Koha. Export between two catalog inside 'Staff Client'
by zolot 18 Jun '14

18 Jun '14

Hello, Koha-users ! In my library computer (OS Windows XP), Koha 3.14 works as a 'staff client'. In this computer I have created 2 bibliographic catalogues, named B1 and B2, with identical UKRMARC framewokrs. It is necessary to export database B1 into B2. What option must I choose (among 'Export to CSV Spreadsheet', 'Export to Excel as xml format', 'Export to OpenDocument Spreadsheet format', 'Export to SQL', see: Administration > 4.1.5.1. Export Framework ) to export database B1 into B2 ? Why ? Thank you, Gennady

where to put a link to ILL?
by Kohn, Karen 18 Jun '14

18 Jun '14

Hello, I just added a link to my library's Interlibrary Loan form in the OPAC, on the 'No results found' screen . However, I'd imagine that often someone will do a search and there will be *some* results, but not the item they are looking for. We are trying to think of somewhere else on the search results screen we could include a link to InterLibrary Loan. We could put it in the header above all pages in the OPAC, but I don't think it would be noticeable there. Does anyone else have links to ILL in their catalog? If so, where are the links? Thanks. -- *Karen Kohn*, *M.S.-L.I.S.* Assistant Professor Collection Development Manager Education and Sociology Librarian Landman Library Arcadia University 450 S. Barcode population/import
by tony.h 17 Jun '14

17 Jun '14

Greetings, Apparently, I'm missing something in the documentation that should be common to many library setups: Importing or creating barcodes * Using an ISBN list, we have successfully used MarcEdit to build the MARC records from the LOC * We inturn imported the .mrc file into Koha * However, without the barcodes, we can't checkin/checkout any books * We could manually edit each item and enter it (painful!). Or we could write some SQL code to enter it based on the matching ISBN number, but I read that the Zebra indexing needs to be rebuilt following that. Which leads me to believe that there is an easier way... Questions: What are the best options for going about this? 1) Does Koha have an auto-barcode generation tool? If so, where is it? 2) What is the procedure for importing a list of barcodes that correspond to the matching ISBN number?
