Open Koha Z39.50 sources
by Nick Clemens 10 Sep '14

Hello Koha, I was looking over our Z39.50 sources and noticing that most/all of our records were coming from consortia on proprietary systems and I thought it might be nice if we gave more to/got more from the Koha community. I started a page on the Wiki with our info and it is open for anyone else to contribute. http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_Open_Z39.50_Sources -Nick -- Nick Clemens Quechee & Wilder Libraries Nick(a)quecheelibrary.org http://www.QuecheeLibrary.org Q (802) 295-1232 W (802) 295-6341

Re: [Koha] Adding field for item creation in marc modification template
by BOUIS Sonia 09 Sep '14

Thanks Ian. I've tried this on a ptfs sandbox (http://sandbox1-staff.ptfs-europe.co.uk) in marc21 and it works with the 952 tag : items are created at the import. Unfortunately for me, we are in unimarc and I can't manage to add a 995 tag with the marc modification. Hi. You can use the MARC modification template to unconditionally add a 952 tag with relevant subfields to such records (in MARC21 anyway). We use it to create items for e-book bib records sent by the supplier. It saves messing around with MarcEdit to add the items. All the best. Adding field for item creation in marc modification template
by BOUIS Sonia 09 Sep '14

Hello, I have a new question about the marc modification template. We want to import records where there's no information about items. I wonder if we can add, in the information template, the fields concerning the items in order to create items at the import. Have you already tried ? Cheers Sonia BOUIS Responsable du Système intégré de gestion des bibliothèques bIBLIOTHÈQUES UNIVERSITAIRES Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 6 Cours Albert Thomas - B.P. 8242 - 69355 Lyon Cedex 08 ligne directe : +33 (0)4 78 78 79 03 | http://scd.univ-lyon3.fr<http://scd.univ-lyon3.fr/> L'Université Jean Moulin est membre fondateur de l'Université de Lyon

OS X Open Directory and Koha
by Walker Blackwell 08 Sep '14

08 Sep '14

Hey all. I'm having trouble connecting Koha 3.16 to OS X Open Directory. Has anyone on this list done it, and do you have the field mapping recipe that you could share? Much appreciated if so. It would save me some major slogging. cheers all, Walker Blackwell Lab Manager, Light Work, Syracuse University

Chronological Term as authority
by Bohdan Šmilauer 08 Sep '14

08 Sep '14

Hi to all, has anybody used Chronological Term as authority? The used Koha is 3.14, Ubuntu is 12.04. All others authorities work fine. It seems to me the Chronological authority in MARC21 in 648 field is linked correctly in the subfield 648$9 to the authority id, but subroutine SimpleSearch() in module /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Search.pm returns no results. I suspect the Zebra indexing is wrong. Any experience is welcome! Many thanks in advance! Bohdan Smilauer librarian Prague Czechia EU b.smilauer(a)post.cz

The 'Smartmatch is experimental' is a warning, should be safe to ignore. btw. which version / OS / installation method are you using? -indra.

Hi! + a newbie question about nullmailer

Hello! I'm a new user of Koha.A friend needs to use the system at his library and I'm helping with the backend. Glad to join the Koha Community! ********************** I've had the system up and running. So far it's been smooth and fun except for a glitch. nullmailer came to be installed together with Koha and it's been causing mail.log and mail.errto blow up to 10GB in sizes, with lines that typically look like this: Sep 8 04:08:05 klc1 nullmailer[2290]: message repeated 694 times: [ smtp: Failed: Connect failed] I'm not currently sending emails so I removed nullmailer altogether from the system. Did I configure koha incorrectly during installation? ch
