Hello :) I need your valuable help and opinion! I would like to create new Shelving locations and collection codes in KOHA. I have tried to do so but unfortunately it was not possible. I have three different libraries hosted in the system and I need to create the above for one of them. If you change the subfield to have the same "hidden" characteristics as one that does shown then you will be able to change that item subfield. Good luck. LAST CALL - RFC for Bug 14048 - Change RefundLostItemFeeOnReturn to be branch specific

Hey all, I posted this on April 22, and received no feedback. I just wanted to give everyone a second chance to post any feedback on the development plan for bug 14048. If you have any comments about it, please let me know! Otherwise, I'll assume everyone is ok with the development plan, and I can go ahead with writing this feature. Thanks! disallow hold requests to be placed on items that are not checked out
by justin fang 12 May '15

12 May '15

Hi, I have a question to setup "disallow hold requests to be placed on items that are not checked out". I find a preference named "AllowOnShelfHolds" and it works. If the item is not checked out, I will unable to place a hold on it. BUT if the record has more than one items, I will ABLE to place a hold on it. For example, there is a record with three items, one of them are checkout but two are not. I will ABLE to place a hold on it. Is it correct behavior or is there any setting I missed? Thanks, Justin

Koha SIP Server Loses Connection on 11 checkout request

I have a problem I hoping someone has come across before and able to point me in the right direction. I have setup the SIP server on Koha and the connection works well along with the SIP 93, 99, 63 & 09 messages however when I try and send an 11 SIP checkout request the connection drops. I am testing with the 3M Emulator. Patron Import Documentation
by Anna Schorch 11 May '15

11 May '15

Dear Nicole, I recently used the patron import to update over 2,000 patron records (in batches). It worked very well. All files contained borrowernumbers and imported successfully. I noticed the following fields were missing in the list for the CSV headers in the patron import documentation: borrowernumber, cardnumber, surname, firstname, title, othernames, initials, streetnumber, streettype, address, address2, city, state, zipcode, country, email, phone, mobile, fax, emailpro, phonepro, B_streetnumber, B_streettype, B_address, B_address2, B_city, B_state, B_zipcode, B_country, B_email, B_phone, dateofbirth, branchcode, categorycode, dateenrolled, dateexpiry, gonenoaddress, lost, debarred, debarredcomment, contactname, contactfirstname, contacttitle, guarantorid, borrowernotes, relationship, ethnicity, ethnotes, sex, password, flags, userid, opacnote, contactnote, sort1, sort2, altcontactfirstname, altcontactsurname, altcontactaddress1, altcontactaddress2, altcontactaddress3, altcontactstate, altcontactzipcode, altcontactcountry, altcontactphone, smsalertnumber, privacy, patron_attributes As for patron attributes, I'm not sure where these go as we have yet to use these. And we import unique userids, so again, I'm not sure about leaving blanks in this field. I hope this helps. Thank you, Anna -- Anna Schorch Library Consultant, Arthur & Janet C. Where do patron attributes go? They aren't in the notes on the side anymore 2. Since userid has to be unique do you have to fill it in - I would assume 2 blanks would be 'not unique' 3. What if I have borrowernumbers? It looks like you can't import them anymore - and if you see the note in the manual you used to be able to 4. Do you see anything else wrong with the documentation? staff member responsible of loan/renewal recorded in issues?
by Giuseppe Angilella 09 May '15

09 May '15

Dear Kohaers, is the information concerning which staff member was responsible of a loan or renewal of a given item recorded anywhere in the database? I couldn't find it in the "issues" tables. Assuming it is not, it could be a relevant information to record, in cases where several staff members (or even all patrons) have issueing privileges. Many thanks, Giuseppe.
