Re: [Koha] 3.18 upgrade, GRS1 v. DOM questions - continued
Hi Mirko and all, thanks for the help. I followed the instructions on the wiki for switching to DOM indexing and upon index rebuild, I see these errors (below). I still cannot pull any records up in a search of my catalog. However, when I look at the staff client > system information, I do not see the warnings about GRS1/DOM anymore so I must have done something right. Ideas? Thanks again. 10:51:59-15/05 zebraidx(13345) [warn] Cannot open `/etc/koha/sites/library/zebra 10:51:59-15/05 zebraidx(13345) [fatal] Cannot read config /etc/koha/sites/librar 10:51:59-15/05 zebraidx(13346) [warn] Cannot open `/etc/koha/sites/library/zebra 10:51:59-15/05 zebraidx(13346) [fatal] Cannot read config /etc/koha/sites/librar ==================== CLEANING ==================== Zebra configuration information ================================ ====================: command not found koha@ubuntu:~$ REINDEXING zebra REINDEXING: command not found koha@ubuntu:~$ ==================== ====================: command not found koha@ubuntu:~$ 10:51:59-15/05 zebraidx(13345) [warn] Cannot open `/etc/koha/site s/library/zebra -bash: syntax error near unexpected token `(' koha@ubuntu:~$ 10:51:59-15/05 zebraidx(13345) [fatal] Cannot read config /etc/ko ha/sites/librar -bash: syntax error near unexpected token `(' koha@ubuntu:~$ 10:51:59-15/05 zebraidx(13346) [warn] Cannot open `/etc/koha/site s/library/zebra -bash: syntax error near unexpected token `(' koha@ubuntu:~$ 10:51:59-15/05 zebraidx(13346) [fatal] Cannot read config /etc/ko ha/sites/librar -bash: syntax error near unexpected token `(' On Thu, May 14, 2015 at 1:04 PM, Amy Schuler <schulera@caryinstitute.org> wrote:

hi all, Just upgrading from 3.10 to 3.18.06 on Debian. That's a big leap. Everything is looking and feeling totally alien. I am testing out the upgrade and added a record using the stage marc record/import staged record tools. However, the record does not show up in catalog search. I tried reindexing: koha-rebuild-zebra -f -v instancename. That seemed to go okay up until I got these weird errors: zebraidx(5004) [warn] Couldn't open collection.abs [No such file or directory]" and "Record didn't contain match fields in (bib1,Local-number)" The reindex proceeded but skipped the biblios.
I found these 2 bugs that seem relevant: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13396 and http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13404
so it sounds like there is a patch. But where is the patch? I may be an idiot but I don't see it. I just see examples of code to manually add/fix in the koha.conf.xml. If there is a patch I can use to avoid manual editing, that would be excellent.
Please advise. Thanks!

what was the command that made those errors? it looks like you probably have a typo in a file you edited

I double checked the files I edited- koha-conf.xml and zebra.biblios.cfg. They look fine to me. When I restart zebra, it says "Invalid option: --user (only works for root)" then a bunch of options, followed by "Zebra does not appear to have been running for instance library. grep: /etc/apache2/sites-available/library.conf: Permission denied Starting Zebra server for library Invalid --pidfiles argument: '/var/run/koha/library/' (Directory is not writable) usage: daemon [options] [--] [cmd arg...]" Is there some kind of permissions problem occurring here? I am completely at a loss here. And my catalog still isn't working so times are getting desperate. Thanks to anyone who can help!
