Sessions table missing or disabling
by Mubassir Ahsan 31 Jan '17

Dear Community, I am getting the following error while backing up and logging to koha //Dumping Koha site inhouse: * DB to /var/spool/koha/inhouse/inhouse-2017-01-31.sql.gz mysqldump: Got error: 1146: Table 'koha_inhouse.sessions' doesn't exist when using LOCK TABLES \\ I had this error before. 1. I had created new instance and run the web installer, then export the sessions table to the old koha database 2. I had changed the session storage to memcached, It solved the log in problem, but it's giving me this error while backing up. I am still confused why it is happening again and again, please help me. Capitalization when exporting label to PDF
by koha 30 Jan '17

30 Jan '17

Hello Koha community, In my intro I mentioned that when I exported labels to PDF, the process would capitalize everything so instead of this: TL 798 .S3 E23 3/1973 v.1.B I am getting: TL 798 .S3 E23 3/1973 V.1.B Not the best example but this creates a problem in other cases where capitalization is required. In my digging around I have found that /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/labels/label-create-pdf.pl is what is creating the actual PDF. I don't know much Perl so I have just been trying various iterations messing with the fonts under sub _print_text however I have not been able to come up with anything that would work. Anyone have experience with either this file or correcting the capitalization on spine labels? I recently changed hardware and upgraded from 3.08.01.00 to 16.05.05.00. Thank you in advance. How to check a file's MIME type in KOHA
by Rejeesh K.Nair 30 Jan '17

30 Jan '17

Hi All, I need to check the MIME type of each uploaded file for security purposes. Some search results from Google suggest that we can do it with the help of the File::MimeInfo <https://metacpan.org/pod/File::MimeInfo>Perl module. How can we install the File::MimeInfo module in KOHA and check the MIME types, or is there some better way? -- Thanks & Regards, Rejeesh K.Nair m: +91 (0) 9495316906 e: rejeeshknair(a)gmail.com <https://www.facebook.com/rejeeshnairk> <https://twitter.com/rejeeshknair> <http://in.linkedin.com/in/rejeeshknair> <https://www.instagram.com/rejeeshknair/>

WG: Introducing myself, adress administration, and accessibility
by Andrea Katemann 30 Jan '17

30 Jan '17

Hello I am the head of a special library for blind and visually impaired people. We lend audio books and books in braille. The books are sended in boxes in Germany and also abroad. We think about introducing Koha. We like the program because it is quite customizable, because you can get many statistics information and because it has a magazin administration, and we have heard that quite a few libraries are now working with this system and a good exchange is possible. Now I have two questions: 1. As already said we are mainly a shipping library. For this reason We need more than three addresses per customer. We have so far understood that you can create three addresses in Koha. Is it possible to expand the program by the way that you can create 6 to 8 addresses per user? 2. In our library also work blind and visually impaired employees. First tests from Koha have shown us that the system is quite usable for this clientele. We assume that there is still need for adjustment. Would it be conceivable that our ideas on accessibility would be assured in the further development of Koha? I'm looking forward to understanding questions and ideas to our situation. Kind regards Andrea Andrea Katemann Leiterin der Deutschen Blinden-Bibliothek Deutsche Blindenstudienanstalt e.V. How to delete book in koha
by Tanzeem M.B 30 Jan '17

30 Jan '17

To delete a single book in KOHA, is it ok to search the book with its accession number (barcode) ,click edit and select the option - delete book or should i use the option delete item. To completely delete all the bibliographic details. I tried to use truncate biblio, truncate items, truncate biblioitems. But still when I give a search I get the details, though when clicked on the book name, the book is not available message is shown. What other steps should I do. I tried koha-zebra-rebuild, but in vain. -With Thanks & Regards Tanzeem

Hello, I would like to extract all the empty bibliografic records, to use Batch record deletion afterwards. We have quite a lot of empty records so maybe CSV is a good to use? Any ideas are more than welcome. Med vänlig hälsning Lukasz Mesek Vuxenbibliotekarie Alingsås bibliotek lukasz.mesek(a)alingsas.se
