Were you logged in to your server as root? I think you need to use sudo koha-shell yourinstancename (then Koha will have the right settings for your instance of Koha). This should work with package installs, but if Koha was installed a different way then I'm not sure. Hopefully, others can comment further on how this should be done correctly, and the location of the files (as I don't know). Export Data tool fails (only tool that fails)- ver 23.11.06

Hello, (I started a similar question on a thread titled "Export page failing to load and related error". Posting again with additional information and to bump the message into new views) *Issue:* The "Export Data" tool will not load. I go to *More* > *Cataloging* > *Export catalog data* and the page immediately fails. (server details at the bottom of the message) The error message is a standard message: "*Service Unavailable:* The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later." All other tools in the Koha GUI work. The export is the only one failing. Does anyone know how to better troubleshoot this issue? *Troubleshooting Steps Tried:* - Upgrade my server to 16GB of RAM. Results: same error - With koha-shell, run the command "/usr/share/koha/bin/export_records.pl --filename=JVK-manual-export". Results: the shell displays all the records, but I cannot find a file that was generated. *Background:* My team uses one instance of Koha to build catalogs that will eventually be sent to remote library locations Africa. I can access the database directly and run a count query on the "items" table. It shows we have *63,426* unique items in the catalog. We have multiple branches to organize all the items. The goal is to export the catalog data per branch library and then send the MARC file to the remote libraries so the librarian can import them into their local instance of Koha. We've been doing this for a few years, so the item records continue to grow. *Koha server details:* Koha version: 23.11.06.000 Server OS: Debian 11 RAM: 8GB CPU: 2 Storage: 160 GB Running on Amazon Lightsail Sincerely, Evan Stewart Africa's Hope, USA

Hi all, I migrated koha from 18 to 24, However when I want to login at staff interface it give the following error: 1. Error 500 <http://192.168.0.188:8082/index.html#> Help <http://192.168.0.188:8082/cgi-bin/koha/help.pl> An error has occurred!*Error 500*This message may have been caused by any of the following reasons: - You made use of an external link to an item that is no longer available - You followed an outdated link e.g. from a search engine or a bookmark - You tried to access a page that needs authentication - An internal link in the client is broken and the page does not exist What's next? - Use top menu bar to navigate to another part of Koha. - To report a broken link or any other issue, please contact the Koha administrator. Removal of patron data obtained via LDAP

Hi We are using Koha 24.05 and are intending to use a LDAP server to fetch the patron data for Koha. During the patron login process Koha will fetch the patron data or update them. So far so good. But what happens if a patron is no more existing on the LDAP server and does not log into Koha anymore? As we understand the once fetched data will just stay in the Koha database (in tables "borrowers" or "deletedborrowers") forever which conflicts with requirements of privacy. We imagine we could regularly compare patron data on the LDAP server with the patron data in Koha (using SQL reports); or we could just regulary and manually delete Koha patrons that expired in a given period and don't have no loans etc. anymore (e. g. using the batch patron deletion tool); but such a manual process seems cumbersome and error-prone. Script "cleanup_database.pl" does not cover patrons. Thus the question: Is there maybe a best practice how to get rid of patron data in Koha that do not exist on the LDAP server anymore?
