Check-out Counts difference
by SATISH 04 Oct '17

04 Oct '17

Hi After upgrade from Koha 16.5 to 16.11.09.000 / Package Installation/ Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop, In Patrons, did browser cache clearing. found two problems with check-out. 1) for some patrons, "Check-out Count" is not same as "Circulation History" This is causing, confusion while patron login to their account using OPAC. In OPAC, it showing Available even though it has been checkout. For koha administrator, the "status" shows blank. 2) Unable to Check-in books, for some patrons. Therefore, it is most urgent for me to answer the patrons. I did not understand what is the reason for this behaviour. Can you please give your suggestions for a fix. Looking forward for your valuable answers. With thanks Satish MV Librarian Govt. Engineering College, Hassan. Karnataka - 573201

How should we rephrase it? Easy to patch the manual: https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Editing_the_Koha_Manual :) Katrin On 03.10.2017 13:50, Owen Leonard wrote: >> Koha’s staff >> client is not supported in Internet Explorer and has not yet been fully >> optimized for Google Chrome." >> >> See >> https://koha-community.org/manual/17.05/html/00_intro.html#koha-recommendat… > I'm not sure why it would say it isn't "optimized for Google Chrome." > I don't think there are any issues with using Chrome. > > -- Owen >

by Chris Brown 03 Oct '17

Hello, Is there any view amongst the community about what browser(s) work best with Koha (for example, what do the developers test against)? And are there any browsers known NOT to work? Thanks! Chris Brown

bugs.koha-community.org (and a few other sites) outage
by Chris Cormack 29 Sep '17

29 Sep '17

Hi All Linode are migrating servers to a new data centre, this will cause an outage for the server that runs bugs.koha-community.org and a few other sites (including download.koha-community.org) They will do it automatically, but I am going to do it today manually so that I can keep an eye on it. So those sites will go down for a while, while I move it I will update when the move is completed Chris -- Chris Cormack Catalyst IT Ltd. +64 4 803 2238 PO Box 11-053, Manners St, Wellington 6142, New Zealand

Geo-tagging Collection/Branches for SEO?
by Martha Fuerst 29 Sep '17

29 Sep '17

Greetings! We learned about Demco’s DiscoverLocal tool, which geo-tags a library’s collection and feeds that info back into search engines so that collection information shows up in search results. This also, apparently, allows devices like Amazon Alexa to place holds and renew items for users. Since Koha 16.11 has a built in command for sitemap generation for SEO, I’m curious whether or not geo-tagging MARC records/branch locations is possible as well? Does the sitemap tool already give us some of these features? Are the other features possible? We’re looking forward to our 16.11 upgrade later this year, but I’m curious if libraries already running 16.11 have any insight. Thanks!
