Koha 17.11 - koha-mysql command - Error: Unknown Variable

Hi all, Koha 17.11 on Ubuntu 16.04 This is probably more of a MariaDB question, but I thought I'd ask anyway since it's Koha-related too. I tried to run the $ koha-mysql [instance name] Debian command and the following error was thrown: "mysql: unknown variable 'init-file=/var/lib/mysql/init-file_library2.sql' I locating the file and I found it in the directory as shown. But I do not know how to get past this error. I'm having trouble diagnosing. The init file pathway is defined under the [mysql] section of /etc/mysql/conf.d/mycnf.sql Any SQL/MARIADB gurus out there who can assist? Dear Friends, It seems that Zebra does not work and search not possible. I found this problem visible with Koha 17.05.x and 17.11.x. My OS is Ubuntu 16.04. Hello, I'm having trouble with translating Koha 17.11. I'm looking for a way to track program attendance in KOHA. Is there any way to jerry-rig this system, maybe with a statistical patron? Koha 17.11 - Koha Coverflow Broken + Fix

Hi everyone, Just passing along something I stumbled upon in case many of you are running 17.11 with the Koha coverflow: Problem: after upgrading to 17.11, the coverflow images no longer display. The source of the problem is in the coverflow.pl file (mine resides here: /var/lib/koha/library2/plugins/Koha/Plugin/Com/ByWaterSolutions/CoverFlow). Fix: https://github.com/bywatersolutions/koha-plugin-coverflow/issues/12 I created a new coverflow.pl file (renaming the old one coverflowORIG.pl), and then adjusted the permissions on that file to 755. Import of .KOC file into Koha 17.11 hangs

Hello, Using a fresh install of Koha 17.11.00 (from Debian packages) I have successfully loaded our patron data, our catalog and our items. However when I try to import an offline circulation (.koc) file, nothing happens. The progress bar sits at 0% and nothing is imported. In the past I have successfully imported a .koc file with an identical format into Koha 17.05. Has the .koc file format changed for 17.11 perhaps? Is there some way to get a more detailed view of what is (or isn't) happening? How to secure KOHA requests

Dear all, Recently we are implemented KOHA on Ubuntu 16.04 everything is fine, the server has 16GB RAM but we are always seeing lack of RAM due to this process: /usr/share/koha/opac/cgi-bin/opac/opac-search.pl Is it something which can be restricted ? can we secure the requests to KOHA services using Apache ? Try this steps: 1. Backup your database. mysqldump -u root -p yourdatabase > backup.sql 2. Make a new Installation. 3. Import your backup.sql file in the new installation. mysql -u username -p yourdatabase < backup.sql 4. Try to access koha admin site. 5. The software will upgrade your database structure. 6. BOM in MARC 21 data files

Hi Recently we have the problem some vendors are delivering their UTF-8-encoded MARC 21 data files (ISO 2709) starting with a byte order mark / BOM (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte_order_mark) Most vendors I know (e. g. Overdrive) don't include such a BOM, but in Germany some do. When asking them to change this they say "every ILS should be able to handle this". However, when trying to import such a file into Koha the first record is simply ignored. This is especially fatal when importing a data file containing only one record, of course. 1. As far as I know the BOM is not part of the MARC 21 (ISO 2709) format, so there mustn't be any leading BOM. Am I correct? 2. Is there a way within Koha to remove that unwanted BOM or to teach Koha to ignore it and import the data anyway? Of course such a BOM could be manually removed by using sed, but I feel that a) either the vendor shouldn't include the BOM at all or b) Koha "should be able to handle this". What do you think? How to print to thermal barcode printer from Koha?

Hi all, So far we had been printing our barcodes from Koha using A4 sized label sticker sheets. It had worked well for us. We are now considering to use a dedicated thermal barcode printer - TSC TTP-244 PRO Product datasheet - http://www.tscprinters.com/cms/upload/product_en/product_7TTP-244_Pro_ENG_d… How do we set it up with Koha? It seems to support ZPL. (which we haven't used before) Any pointers? with regards MAKUAT Support
